up The bicycle, burglars who have been plying their trade In Los Angeles have come to grief at last, according to advices from, San Diego. The two young men there under the names of John and C. E. Wesley, as related in the San. Diego correspondence of The Times, are supposed to be the burglars who broke into W.

Watts's Figueroa-street cyclery about ten days ago. Three of Mr. Watts's best wheels were made away with, and the police have scoured the town in vain for the plunder. About the time of the Watts burglary two young men answering the description of the suspects in custody at San Diego rented two wheels of an East Los Angeles bicycle dealer which have never been returned. Upon the arrest of the Wesleys at San Diego with three bicycles In their possession, Chief of Police Russell of that city reported the matter' to Chief Glass, who telegraphed a- description of the wheels missing from Los Angeles.

A reply was promptly received from Chief Russell stating that one of the wheels captured there has been positively identified as one of those stolen from Watts, and another as one of the missing East Los Angeles bicycles. The third wheel appears to be one stolen after the arrival of the. alleged burglars in San Diego. Two of the Watts wheels and one of the East Los Angeles wheels were 'Cits of Paris Insolvent Children's Wear. City of Paris Infants' Lawn Caps.

L. Sterns and J. P. Small. Pat Condon got into a saloon row yesterday morning and during the scuffle had one of his' legs badly sprained.

He was taken to the Receiving Hospital for treatment. George C. Parks, father of one of the boys whipped at Whittier during the revolt, writes to The Times that' his boy was not accused of being one of the leaders of the disturbance, but was whipped for a. minor offense. The Parks boy was not picked out by the school officials as one of the leaders.

A colored man named B. Aboway, who drives an oil wagon, was kicked In the face by a horse which he was grooming yesterday morning and badly Injured. His jaw was broken and his face otherwise disfigured. After temporary treatment at the (Receiving Hospital he was sent to the County Hospital. President P.

M. Daniel has appointed C. B. Boothe as delegate from the Board of Trade to the sixth annual Bession of the National Irrigation Con-gressi which convenes in Lincoln, on the 28th day of next September. Mr.

Boothe attended the session of the congress last year as the delegate from the Board of Trade, and was president of the convention, as well as chairman of the California delegation. Mr. Boothe is spoken of as chairman of the coming congress. San Diego for stealing a bicycle there, and If that charge fails to hold, they will be brought back to Los Angeles and tried for burglary. Mr.

Watts yesterday swore to a complaint charging them with breaking Into his shop and stealing three of his wheels, and papers for the detention of the culprits have been forwarded to San, Diego. The local officers are very anxious to get hold of the prisoners, as they believe they have a better case against them than the San Diego officials have. The local detectives are also of the opinion that they can trace a number of burglaries and thefts to them. Little is known about the prisoners here. The name Wesley, Is believed to be an assumed one.

It would not surprise the detectives at police headquarters if they recognized in the prisoners held at San, Diego some well-known crooks who are for crimes committed in other, towns than San Diego and' Los Angeles. Slid on His Far. Pedro 'French and another Mexican imbibed too much-liquor yesterday, and in an endeavor to drive out Temple street, in their intoxicated condition, their horse ran- away, both were spilled out of the wagon. Pedro had his left ear almost torn off by sliding upon: it over the rought street. His companion escaped without serious French was carried to the Police Receiving Hospital, where his ear was sewed on in its proper place.

A Plain for Connecting the Elyslan and Eastlnke Parks, The East Siders axe alive to the importance of having the Pasadena-Los Angeles boulevard so located as to be of the most benefit to that section of the city, and on Wednesday evening last -a large number of property-owners met at the East Side Bicycle Club rooms for the purpose of discussing, the matter, M.

H. Flint was elected chairman of the meeting and T. "Saunders, secretary. The possibilities of the various routes were thoroughly entered into, and after full discussion the' meeting unanimously recommended that Manitou avenue be opened and extended west from Chestnut street to connect with the new boulevard' bridge, Which to cross the rriver' at a point near Fremont Gate, and, that Manitou avenue via Pritchard street offered the greatest number ad van tases and could be built for the least possible cost. The discussion brought out the many merits of this First It is the most direct rout between Elysian Park the: East Side Second Its the- central route, and practically divides the Renter of East.

Los Angeles by' removing all spirit of petty Jealousy.xir' envy. Third It offers the, least. possible grade, and by raising the grade a trifle at or near Sichel street and lowering the grade' correspondingly at' or near Daly it forever soives the storm-water problem which has ruined many, of our graded streets south of Downey avenue, costing this city for repairs many thousands ot dollars; two blocks on Mozart street have alone cost this city over $5000. The point of delivery of the storm-water into the river would be via Manitou avenue; some fifteen feet higher than as now via New Main street, where the de-lfverv Is below the river when it rises, causing the water to back up, flooding, and damaging thousands of dollars' worth of property in that vicln-Hv. Fourth Its Improvements are such and the, lots.

are sufficiently deep that Manitou avenue and Pritchard street can be widened, iwlth less expense than any other street in East Los Aneeles. Fifth It is one of the best residence etreets in East Los Angeles, and has some of the most progressive citizens living Sixth It is entirely free from street-en tracks end railroad crossings which Is one of the mot essential nuftllflcatior" desired by the General levari Committee.
