(UPI) Quarterback Cornelius Greene scored two fourth quarter touchdowns after Illinois errors to lead No. I ranked and unbeaten (Mo State to a 30-0 Big Ten victory Saturday. The win left OSU tied for the Big Ten lead with fourth-rated Michigan. Both havp. 5-0 records.

The lllini, tied for the conference lead going into the game, dropped to 4-1 in the Big Ten. Illinois, this year's Cinderella team in the conference, was trailing OSU 10-fl when lllini halfback Jim Phillips fumbled at his own 16- yard line on the first play of the fourth quarter. The Buckeyes recovered and two plays later Greene ran seven yards for a touchdown. On Illinois' next play from scrimmage, quarterback Jeff Hqllenbach's pass was intercepted by OSU linebacker a Gradisher at the Illinois 31. Eight running plays later.

Greene plunged in from the one. The Buckeyes' final touchdown came with 5:42 to play when freshman fullback fete Johnson crashed two yards for a touchdown to climax a 57-yard drivp. Ca! scored its second touchdown following a fumble recnvpry by Dwayne O'Steen at the SC 47. Muncie dove over from the one after the Trojans were called for pass interference in the end zone.

By all rights, the game should have ended a( 42-14. but Southern Cal had other ideas. Bartkowski was sacked in the end zone for a safety with (wo seconds left and Davis ran Ihe subsequent free kick back 80 yards for a touchdown as Ihe clock ran out. The Trojans didn't bother totrylheextra point. As if the beating wasn't bad enough.

Cal also suffered some serious injuries. Receiver Dave Batanan suffered a broken collarbone and is out for Ihe rest of Ihe sea son. Starting center Kevin O'Dorisio incurred a knee injury that will require surgery and he. too. is lost for the year.

STOCKTON, Calif. I The University Pacific rolled up 434 yards rushing Salurday to overwhelm Los Angeles Stale University 54-2 in a nonconference foot to II game. Junior halfback Willard Harrell rambled for 240 yards and two touchdowns in 18 carries and quarterback Steve Townc scored one TD pass and went in from Ihe one lo score another in 'leading the Tigers to the victory. Harrcll, who was out most of the second half, had runs of 67 and 74 yards, pushing his season rushing total to 993. The Tigers defense set a school record by holding Los Angeles Slate to a minus 17 yards rushing.

Johnson, the I)ruins' all-time career rushiiig leader, tallied on a one-yard carry in the second -period and then dazzled Ihe ikies' defense with his 57-yard sideline romp with only 5:01 gone in the Ihird quarter. But the Oregon offense, dormant in the first half, came alive lo score two quick touchdowns and take the lead for the first time in the game, 14-10, early in the fourth quarter. WSU came right back with an 80-yard drive, ending in a 24-yard Joe Danelo field goal to put the Cougars within one point of the Ducks.

The Iwo teams exchanged lire ball on downs unlil Daniels recovered the fumble of Oregon quarterback Herb Singleton 10 set up the winning touchdown drive. WSU running back Ken Grandberry scrambled for (he corner and into the end zone for a two-point conversion to the delight of Cougar fans.
