He weighed eight pounds, 12 ounces Death Takes H. Martin -Hillis L. Martin, 67, White County farmer, of Rt. 3, Monticello, died Friday after an apparent heart attack. He was born March 3, 1905, in Warren County to George and Nancy Ann Coleman Martin.

He was married Jan. 23, 1928, to Dorothy Schules, who survives. Also surviving are a brother, Lewis, Rensselaer; and six sisters, Mrs. Sarah Kilmer, Mrs. Minnie Ashbey, and Mrs.

Bertha Ray, all of Rensselaer; Mrs. Ollie Woods, Valparaiso; Mrs. Thelma Herr, Marysville; and Mrs. Helen Herron, Monticello. He was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, and six sisters.

The Pioneer Sunshine Society will be sponsoring an alumni tea for all past members of the Sunshine Society in the Pioneer District. They will be honoring past presidents from the last 20 years. McGuire, 68, of Rt. 1, Walton, died at 12:35 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Logansport. A retired farmer, he had been ill one year.

McGuire was a resident of the Galveston area for 35 years, moving here from Virginia. Born in Franklin County, Dec. 6, 1902, he was the son of Datie and Nannie Dillon McGuire. He was married to Dossie Scott, who died in 1969. Survivors include one brother, Herman of Roanoke, three half brothers, Dalton, Oris and Waverly, all of Logansport; three sisters, Mrs.

Clarence Amos, Mrs. Hazel Mays and Mrs. Mamie Hartwell, all of Roanoke, and four half sisters, Mrs. Ray Burket of Auburn and Mrs. Glen Stoops, Mrs.

John Korreckt and Miss Virginia McGuire, all of Logansport. One son preceded him in death. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Thomas-Murray Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roanoke, Va.

a Mrs. Callaway Dies In Florida; Rites Wednesday ROCHESTER-Mrs. Sulphrona Mae Callaway, 91, of 1449 Linhart Fort Myers, died at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Lee Convalescent Home in Fort Myers. A former resident of Rochester, she had been in ill health for two months.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has named 37,000 students to the list in the United States. Sunday, September 24, 1072 Miami Grand Jury Indicts Six Persons PERU-Six persons were indicted by the Miami County Grand Jury, including four Laidlaw Corp. employes for the theft of nickel from the plant and two men for involuntary manslaughter based on fatal auto accidents. Those indicted for the theft of nickel included: Richard Winner, 30, Elite Estates, charged with theft of an undetermined number of 480- pound drums of nickel on six different occasions in 1970 and 1971; Lyle Brown, Denver, former plant manager of the firm, charged with receiving cash from a fictitious purchase of three drums of nickel and the theft of drums of nickel on three separate occasions in 1971; Samuel George, 38, Wabash, former office manager at Laidlaw, charged with receiving cash from a fictitious Deaths And Funerals GILSINGER Services for Mrs. Rozella R. Graveside rites will be conducted at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport at 10 Two Youths Captured After Disarming Town Marshal WINAMAC-Two juvenile boys from Medaryville, one an escapee from the Indiana Boy's. School at Plainfield, were arrested in connection with disarming Medaryville town marshall, Harold Fritz. The 17-year-old escapee will be returned to Plainfield while the other youth, a 14-year-old, Is charged with an act of delinquency and will be handled in Juvenile Court. According to authorities, Marshall Fritz had spotted the two youths in Medaryville.

He and Sheriff's Posse member Paul Schultz began a search and Frittz apprehended the pair. After he had the escapee in handcuffs, the 14-year-old grabbed the officer's gun and threatehed him. When Fritz's attempts to talk to the boy failed, he released the lad in handcuffs. The boy holding the gun then emptied the cylinder and threw the gun in the weeds. Fritz and Schultz then notified the state police and the Pulaski county sheriff's department.

The boys were discovered in the attic of a barn about a quarter of a mile south of Ind. 143 and the intersection of U.S. 421. in Miami Circuit Court. Price has been charged with the kidnaping of his ex-girl friend, Loydene Moore, 31, of Rt.

1, Urbana. He allegedly abducted her from her home at gunpoint the night of March the 2. Price pleaded innocent to two charges Thursday in Miami Circuit Court. He had escaped from the Putnamville penal farm in August while serving time for a first degree burglary conviction. He will be returned there pending his trial in November.

The indictment against Hoover alleges he drove his car in a reckless and unlawful manner under the influence of intoxicants, resulting in a fatal accident Nov. 30, 1971, on County Road 100W. Killed was Donald Eugene Sparks, 23, 352 Madison a passenger in the Hoover car. Arraignment for all six is scheduled Thursday in Miami Circuit Court.

Most of the signatures were from students attending Indiana colleges, according to Tucker. He said he checked with parents, who in turn checked with their children, and it was learned that many of them were not aware they had signed the petition and knew nothing about it. The petition states that each of the subscribers "desire and are legally qualified to vote for each said candidates and that they designate the name or title of the party principles of the Communist party." An affidavit is being prepared by the prosecutor's office for each of the petition signers which states that he at no time signed the petition for the Communist party or did not understand what he was signing. Brian D. Schlabach, 16, of 124 13th suffered a broken left in a two-car crash at 2:01 arm p.m. Saturday. Schlabach was traveling north on Michigan followed by another car, driven James T. Jones, 46, of Rt.

4. Schlabach reportedly made by a right turn onto Smith St. and then a left back onto Michigan striking the Jones auto. The accident is still under investigation. Marcia Jacobs, 27, of Kokorno, suffered minor injuries in a one car accident on County Road 700 E.

Monday. Driver Hurt In Accident ROCHESTER-One person received minor injuries in an 11:45 a.m. crash Saturday just south of Rochester on U.S. 31. Damage to the vehicles involved totaled 1350 for the Holbrook car and $400 for the Rensberger auto. Merchandise Valued At $275 Stolen A total of $275 in merchandise was taken from City Auto Sales, 525 South Third St. Robert Guy told police that a spare tire and rim, a transistor radio, a bowling ball and bag and a box of assorted tools were stolen from a car at the lot.

Guy said that all the doors the car were not locked. -Miss Anna Buckley, 73, of 151 E. Second died at 2 a.m. Saturday in the Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapols. She had been ill since August 13.

Born Sept. 13, 1899, she was the daughter of Oscar and Helen Kegler Buckley. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and an associate member of Women of the Moose. She is survived by one sister, Miss Aura Buckley of Peru, and several cousins.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Charles Catholic Church, with the Rev. William R. Grady officiating.
