Records MESSENGER-INQUIRER, Wednesday, October 1, 2003 Deaths Camilis 'Bill' Caraway CALHOUN Camilis "Bill" Caraway, 71, of Calhoun died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at his home in Calhoun. Bill was born Aug. 8, 1932, in Calhoun to the late Guilford and Anna Mae Caraway and married the former Betty Sue Epley in 1965. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of Calhoun Christian Church, where he had served as a church deacon for several years.

He enjoyed his grandkids and working with horses. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Betty; two sons and their wives, Clay and Linda Durbin and Scott and Marie Caraway, all of Calhoun; a daughter, Cindy Caraway Taylor of Calhoun; six grandchildren, Annie Durbin, Abi Durbin, Aaron Durbin, Isaac Caraway, Cathryn Taylor and Leah Mae Taylor; and two brothers, Lemuel Caraway and John Caraway, both of Calhoun. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. today at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel, with Brother Joe Bill Caraway officiating. Private family burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the Caraway family from 5 p.m. until time of services today at Musters in Calhoun. The Caraway family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Green River Hospice, 109 South Second Central City, KY 42330. Allen Junior Davis LIVERMORE Allen Junior Davis, 64, of Livermore died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at his daughter's home in Fennville, Mich. Allen Alfonzo Davis Jr. was born Oct. 23, 1938, in McLean County to the late Fonzie "Catfish" and Margaleen Davis and was known as "Junior" by his friends.

Junior was a retired carpenter, an active member of the Livermore Senior Citizens and also helped with the Livermore RV park. His second wife, Juanita Harrison Davis, died Sept. 28, 1996. He was also preceded in death by a greatgrandson, Jeffrey Allen Davis III, who died March 27, 2002. Survivors include a son and his wife, Jeff and Lillie Davis of Island; four daughters and their husbands, Shallow Jean and Wayne Harris of Fennville, Debra Hudson of Owensboro, Sharon Nell and Tony Boyken of Livermore and Karen and Rich Cole of Huntsville, his first wife, Emma Lee McRoy of Brooklyn, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Davis of Rumsey and Pascal Davis of Livermore; and five sisters, Lula Mae Revlett and Louise Hall, both of Holland, Brenda Sue Baker of Texas, Velda Jane Burden of Glenville and Nita Myrl Williamson of Birmingham, Ala.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel, with Sister Carolyn Erwin officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Livermore. Friends may visit with the Davis family from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m.

Hall Gracie B. Hall, 79, of 821 Poindexter loving mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, with her loving family at her side, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born Jan. 7, 1924, in McHenry to James, Cecil Mosley and Levi Maddox, and was formerly employed at Mary Hardin Rest Home and Owensboro Canning Co.

She was a housewife and a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hall, on Jan. 20, 1978; a daughter, Clarice E. Bratcher, in 1949; a son, James L. Bratcher, in 1997; and a daughter, Ruby Simpson, in 1999.

Survivors include five sons, Andy T. Bratcher, Roger S. Bratcher, Alex Bratcher Jerry D. Bratcher and Dexter R. Bratcher, all of Owensboro; three stepsons, Raymond Bratcher, Delbert Bratcher and Billy Joe Bratcher, all of Owensboro; three daughters, Kathy Grant, Ella Mae Alvey and Shirley Pierce, all of Owensboro; two stepdaughters, Dottie Bratcher and Diane Harris, both of Owensboro; many nieces and nephews; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jimmy Mosley of Evansville, Kenneth Mosley and Richard Mosley, both of Illinois, and Arthur Mosley of Evansville; and three sisters, Ruby Fulton of Paducah, Mary Lindsey of Beaver Dam and Gladys Lyons of Owensboro.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Haley-McGinnis Owensboro Funeral Home chapel. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. David E. Smith HAWESVILLE David F. Smith, 43, formerly of Hawesville, died Thursday, Sept.

29, 2003, at Miller's Merry Manor in Rockport, after complications from an automobile accident in 1987. He was born in Tell City, and was of the Catholic faith. He was the son of the late Dr. B. Pressley Smith and Nancy Smith Parker.

Survivors include a son, Jason D. Mary Azeline Stewart BREMEN Mary Azeline Stewart, 84, of Bremen died at 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept.

30, 2003, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Muhlenberg County on Jan. 7, 1919, and was a member of Fairview Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She retired as a cook from Bremen Elementary School. Survivors include three sons, Jerry Sparks of Owensboro and Larry Stewart and James Stewart, both of Bremen; four grandchildren, Tina Palmer, Tracy Sparks, Brandi Corbin and Kristen Stewart; a stepgrandchild, Leah Shemwell; five great-grandchildren, Rachael Sparks, Makayla Sparks, Shelby Sparks, Logan Palmer and Colton Shemwell; and two brothers, J.W.

Gish of Bremen and William Gish of Owensboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Stewart; and three sons, Ricky, Ronnie and Eddie Stewart. Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Gish Cemetery in Bremen with the Rev.

James Talley and the Rev. Danny Greene officiating. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Anna Lou 'Granny Ann' Whitson SUN CITY, Ariz.

Anna Lou "Granny Ann" Whitson, 84, of Sun City passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, in Freedom Plaza. She was born to Thomas Frederick and Willie Shepherd on Jan. 23, 1919, in Persia, Tenn. Her husband, W.

Averitt Whitson, passed away April 29, 1962. Anna worked at Kentucky Utilities in Greenville and Earlington for many years in customer relations as a home economist until her retirement in 1982. After retirement she moved to Flagstaff, to be near her daughters and grandchildren. In 1990 she moved to Sun City to enjoy the warm winters and sunshine. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Whitson Borden of Sun City; her son, William Frederick Whitson of Tallahassee, four grandchildren, Dr.

Wood Glenn W. Wood, 69, of Whitesville died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at his home. Glenn is survived by his wife, Jo Elliott Wood, and had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 29, 2003, with their children.

Glenn's children are daughter Glenn Baldwin and son-in-law Dan Baldwin of Loganville, a son, John Wood and companion Kathleen Ross of Murray; daughter Donna Bell and son-in-law Robert Bell of Owensboro; and daughter Carla Edge and son-inlaw Ronnie Edge of Philpot. His brothers, Bobby, Dale and Tony Wood, survive Glenn. Glenn retired from Western Kentucky Gas in 1997 after 41 years of service. He was a charter member of the Whitesville Lion's Club, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of Whitesville Baptist Church. Glenn had served the Whitesville community as chief of the Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years and was a former mayor for the Whitesville community. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct.

Records taken Monday during the burglary of a golf pro shop in the 4300 block of Old Hartford Road. The property is owned by the city of Owensboro. Daviess County Sheriff Traffic Accidents A car driven by Robert L. Jarboe, 17, of Utica crashed at 8:28 p.m. Saturday on Kentucky 140 about 9.6 miles south of Owensboro.

No injuries were reported. Two vehicles collided at 12:35 p.m. Saturday on Kentucky 54 about five miles south of Owensboro. They were driven by Armel Gray, 77, of Philpot and Emitt W. Barnett 30, of Whitesville.
