Austin American-Statesman B5 Saturday, May 13, 1978 i Austin growth market attracts KVUE-TV buyers The Evening News Association owns several broadcasting stations, including WWJ-AM and FM radio in Detroit; WWJ-TV in Detroit; KTVY-TV in Oklahoma City; ALA-TV in Mobile, Ala. and KOLD-TV in Tucson, Ariz. The company also publishes the Detroit Evening News and the Desert Sun newspaper in Palm Springs, Calif. The Evening News Association and the Washington Post recently applied for FCC permission to swap ownership of their respective hometown television stations, WWJ-TV in Detroit and WTOP-TV in the Washington area.
