The president of the local BWP club, Mrs. Fern Brown, a receptionist at KLK Mfg., is pictured above in her office talking with the general manager, N.H. Minks. Mrs. Brown resides at 905 Sunset drive. NATIONAL BUSINESS WOMEN'S WEEK is being observed this week throughout the United States by Women in business arid professions:in various phases of industrial, scientific and vocational lines. With a membership of 100 women, the local Busin ess and Professional .Women's club will for the first time this year present a"Woman of the Year" award honoring the outstanding work of a Logansport lady. Being judged on community service, leadership ability and personal or business progress, the "Woman of the Year" will be-honored at a reception Wednesday at the" Captain Logan hotel. Officers of the local club are: president, Fern .Brown; first vice-president, Harriet Perkins; second vice-president, Arlene Little; recording secretary, Helen Soncafty; corresponding secretary, Delores Alberts; treasurer, Edith Ayers; and parliamentarian, Shirley Shoup. Show on the page are pictures of local BPW women at their work. Mrs, Vianna Peterson, second grade, teacher, is pictured above in her class room at Fairview school giving instruction to Jerry Skinner, local girl, who is a student teacher and senior at Ball State Teacher* college. Mrs. Peterson lives at 300 Humphrey street. Mrs. Agnes Chase, who is employed in the Deputy Eel township Assessor's office at the Court House, is pictured above looking over correspond ance. Mrs. Chase lives at 829 North street. Employed as an office clerk at the Riley-Franklin school, Mrs. Leah Jane Gaurner, of 23 West Ottawa street, is pictured sbove in the office typing. Mrs. Dolores Alberts, who is employed in the Comity Clerk's office at the Court House, is pictured above in the office looking over record*. Mrs. Alberts lives at 300 West Linden avenue.
