THE SUN. BALTIMORE, MONDAY MORNING. SEPTEMBER 26. 10f.fi I'AGE Bfl Look and Listen Women's World Nov Attack Opened Television Preview Programs with Donald Kirkley i Scientists will find It's About Time, on CBS-TV Sundays at 7.30 it a 7 We are considered suspect by jealous wives and insulted by marauding wolves." Mile. Marais exacts cooperation from the government since there are six million single women in vacation trouble in France.

Marseilles, France (WNS) Alain Trenet, 21, became so intrigued with his girl friend's wig that he bought a beatnik wig for himself and had his name carefully stitched into the band. To pay for the wig "and a few other things," he stole $2fi0 from a grocery store. In the chase that followed, his wig fell off, and police traced him through his name in the band. "Wigs are for girls," Trenet announced later. "Girls do not run into the emergencies that men do." Barcelona (WNS) Shopkeepers and restaurateurs on the Costa Brava have reported that salesgirls and waitresses in native costumes attract more paying customers than those in miniskirts.

The report explained that lady tourists, who do most of the buying, resent having short-skirled beauties near their husbands. Inca, Spain (WNS)-Girls here complained to the local priest that farmer Pedro Molls, 27, was taking unfair advantage of them. Molls named his goats and pigs after young ladies who refused to go out with him. The farmer has agreed to discontinue the custom. "I have to," he said.

"I'm getting married this fall, and my bride might object." "The Love Song of Barney Kempin.ski." on ABC Stage 67. was a bold experiment received with enthusiasm by most critics and a great many viewers. The second presentation, "Dare 1 Weep, Dare I Mourn," was a drama in the conventional style which would have been regarded as extraordinarily fine had it been performed on any of the live se ries a decade ago. "Dare I Weep, Dare I Mourn," bv John LeCarre, adapted for tele vision by Stanley Mann, had the quality of a Broadway play or a good novel or theater movie. There were two themes, closely interwoven.

One was the tragedy of a small business man in West Germany, 45 years old, who had been dominated and frustrated all his life, first by a father who de spised him, then by two spinster cousins. A weak, drab, hapless person, he makes a final attempt to free himself, but is led, step by logical step, to murder the only one who might have made freedom possible. The second theme involves a journey to East Germany, where, he believes, his father, who has been living there since the war, has died. He eoes to fetch the body to West Berlin for burial, but discovers that the old man is very much alive and an agent fori the Underground. The ensuing ad- ventures are narrated with skill and suspense of a very high order.

James Mason portrait of the timid anti-hero is magnificent one of the best in his career. He P.M., enormously valuable; it sheds new light on the history of the earth and humankind, and many theories are going to have to be revised. Anthropologists will be astounded to learn that Stone Age people lived circa one million B.C. and talked in pidgin-Amen can, and that the women ruled their husbands and the village chiefs. Geologists will observe that their period coincided with that of the dinosaurs, for the tribe in the series shared their turf ith tyrannosaurus rex.

NASA will be amazed to note that two astronauts, so stupid that it's hard to see how they ever passed basic training, were able to get themselves so thoroughly lost as to wind up among these primeval, fur-clad, two- legged creatures. The resemblance of some Stone Agers to Imogene Coca, Joe E. Ross, Mike Mazurki, Cliff Norton and Mary Grace will be noted as prime examples of reincarnation. The comical spacemen who will be tarnishing the image of real-life astronauts every Sunday are Frank Aletter and Jack Mullaney. It's About Time should please those ratings families the modern equivalent of Stone Agers who understand and speak pidg in-American.

It should be a hit, for it was created by Sherwood Schwartz, who gave us Gilligan's Island. 1MOGENE COCA Emancipated Cave Woman Paris WNS- Single French-returninc from summer women vacation have organized the Solo Tourists Club to fight for better tourist accommodations. "Many resort hotels refuse to accept lone visitors during busy months because they can rent their single rooms as doubles," reported secretary Marie Anne Marais. "Single women also get the worst treatment in restaurants. If they are at all attractive, they TV Star Divorced Los Angeles Wt Actor Robert Culp was divorced Thursday by his wife, Nancy, 32.

Culp, 36, is co-star of the current "I Spy" television series. Mrs. Culp testified in superior court that Culp once stayed away from home for 24 hours and that last summer, while in Europe, he had written her a letter asking for a divorce. She also told the court that his behavior made her nervous. He did not contest the divorce.

The court awarded her $3,900 a month alimony and $1,200 a month for the support of their four children, Joshua, 8, Jason, 5, Joseph, 3 and Rachel, 22 months. Mrs. Culp also received the family's $90,000 home in Woodland Hills and a portion of his current contract earnings. The Culps were married in Mexico in 1957 and have been separated since January. She's prettier and shapelier than Illya Kuryakin, of course but she's not much of an actress and she's ill-suited to the role. Also, it's unlikely that she'll charm gentlemen viewers in the way that ifiya affects the ladies. Girls just as fetching or more so are seen every week on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. It's already evident that Na poleon Solo and Mr. Kuryakin are going to have to come to her rescue often, and this is bound to hamper their overall operations.

The new series may turn out to be mostly an extension of the parent fantasy, and it's a littld nara to Deueve mac enougn viewers will want to see two of the kind each week. Unless Noel Harrison, her part ner and platonic playmate, catches on with the distaff portion of the audience, as did David McCallum. He tends to steal scenes from Miss Powers, and has made an agreeable impres sion already. The series has a fine executive producer going for it-Norman Felton and the same kind of humor that distinguishes The Man from U.N.C.L.E. It may pull through.
