Henry Miller an article, "The Soloist." Mrs. Miller conducted the business session. Projects were reported and October will be the next project month. August is vacation month and the September meeting will be with Mrs. Edwin Johnson.

Mrs. N. DeWitt conducted a white elephant auction. There was a shower of cards and gifts for Mrs. 0.

E. Boles who has been ill. The birthday song was sung for Mrs. DeWitt. Mrs.

Kahle, assisted by Mrs. Wiley Bishop and Mrs. Letha Uischner, served refreshments. Guests were Mrs. Rudy Bey.

Robert W. Mosiman will make their home at 330 East State, following a wedding trip to Minnesota. Their rna'rriage took place in the Chapin Congregational Church with the Rev. Herbert Wintermeyer of Latimer performing the double ring ceremony. The bride was Irene R.

Heuberger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Heuberger of Chapin. She is a graduate of Chapin High School and the Hamilton School of Commerce and is employed in the Western Grocery Office.

The bridegroom attended school in Belmond and is employed at Allied MDls. Nuptial music was played by Mrs. Harold Meints. She accompanied Mrs. Willis Deam and the Rev.

Mr. Wintermeyer who sang. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a nylon net and lace gown and a fingertip length veil draped from a sequined lace headband. She carried a cascade of pink roses and stcphanotis on a white Bible. Mrs.

Junior Mordick of Hampton, the bridesmaid, had an aqua taffeta and net gown and carried a colonial bouquet of yellow carnations. Cecil Mosiman of Belmond, brother of the bridegroom, was bestman. Ushers were Clarence Heuberger, brother of the bride, and Lloyd Faaborg, brother-in-law of the bridegroom. Following the ceremony a re ception was held in the church parlors. Mary Lee Cole Becomes Bride SWEA Swea City teacher, Mary Lee Cole, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Lee Cole of Burt, was married to Walter F. Baade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Baade of Titonka, in the Burt Methodist Church.

The Rev. J. W. Bearse performed the double ring ceremony. The nuptial marches were played by Mar lene Dremmel, member of the Swea City faculty, who also accompanied LeeAnn Olson, vocalist.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. Edith MDbrandt and Alvina Baade were bridesmaids. The bride's cousins, Kathy and Kristy Merriarn, were flower girls. Linda Joan Tryon, niece of the bridegroom, was ringbearer. The candlelighters were Janet Plaiser and Sharon Scott.

Reynold Baade was his brother's bestman, Paul Thacker of Rock Rapids, Alfred Baade and Howard Stephenson were ushers. A reception in the church social rooms was held for 160 guests. Following the reception, the couple left on a wedding trip, and will be at home in Titonka, where the bride will teach. Mr. Baade is in business at German Valley, near Titonka.

SHATEK-SVESTKA Announcement of the marriage of Miss Rose Marie Svestka, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Svestka of Cresco, and Leonard Shatek, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Joseph Shatek of Elma, is made. They were married in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin on the 22nd wedding anniversary of the bride's parents. They will make their home with the bridegroom's parents where the bridegroom is farming, southwest of Cresco. MURRAY-McNAMARA WEDDING PLANNED marriage of Miss Constance McNamara of Iowa City, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Jay J. McNamara of Iowa City, and Henry R. Murray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Murray of Cresco, will be Saturday at 9 a.m.

in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City. The bride-elect attended Mount Mercy Academy, Cedar Rapids. The two will attend the University of Iowa, Iowa City, where they will make their home. Bridal Pair Is at Home After Trip FOREST CITY Mr. and Mrs. Ross DeLawyer are making their home in Forest City following a wedding trip to Colorado. The bride was Evelyn Berhow before the marriage which took place in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Forest City where the Rev.

Burton W. Smith, pastor, read the double ring ceremony. She is employed at the office of Thorson, Thorson and Madson, architects. Mr. DeLawyer is a custodian for the Forest City Public Schools.

The bride's brother, Thomas, es- sorted her to the altar. Her sister, Agnes Berhow, was her maid of honor. Carroll Erickson, of Balaton, son-in-law of the bridegroom, was bestman. Leslie and Orville Berbow, brothers of the bride, were ushers. The ringbearer was David Berhow, nephew of the bride, and candlelighters were Gloria and Karol Rae Berhow, nieces of the bride.

DELAWYER Navy Mothers Meet at Lake Navy Mothers Club met Thurs day at the home of Mrs. Charles Crowley at Clear Lake for a buffet dinner, followed by the July business session, Mrs. W. A. Berry presided.

Mrs. H. L. Hettler, ground observer corps chairman for the club, talked on the corps and called for volunteers. She also reported on floral contributions to the Daughters of Union Veterans, the Royal Neighbors and the Allied Orders conventions at the Hanford in June.

New committees wfll be appointed at the next business meeting, Aug. 10 at the Labor Temple. The Tri-States rally to be held in Davenport was discussed. The Navy Mothers Club will take part in the memorial floor service. When you are stewing or steaming chicken, remember that it takes chicken pieces about as long as a whole bird to cook.

Mrs. Hartema, 41, Dies of Cancer mother of three young children, Mrs. Edward Har- 41, Hampton, died of cancer ji the Memorial Hospital at Water- oo Thursday. Funeral services will je held at the Lee Center Church, iampton, at 2 p.m. Saturday.
