I SEIZED IN GAS Boy, 5, and Sister, 4, Are Victims (Pictures on back page) Two small children died yesterday when flames swept thru their home in Cary, a McHen-ry county suburb northwest of Barrington.

The victims were Dale Leon-hardt 5, and his sister, Cindy, 4. Their bodies were found under a bed along with the body of a puppy. Death was attributed a combination of smoke inhalation and intense heat. Left Alone by Mother At the time of the fire, another Leonhardt child, Luanne, 6, was attending school. The children's father, a mail carrier in Barrington, was at work.

The mother had left them alone when she went shopping. Capt. Clifford Anderson of the Cary volunteer fire department said that the fire seemed to have started in the kitchen of the one story ranch house at 450 Oriole trail. But the cause was unknown. Fire Put Out Quickly Anderson said that flames were leaping out both the front and back doors when firemen responded about noon.

He said the firemen went thru the windows and extinguished the blaze within ten minutes. Just after the fire had been extinguished and the bodies of the children carried outside, Mrs. Leonhardt arrived at her home and collapsed. Mrs. Leonhardt was taken to xu Jioecicii.
