An unusual development of city property one which seems strange Is not employed more generally Is being carried out by the Burns Bealty Company. Two years ago the company bought up property on both sides of Forty fourth street between Pennsylvania and Washington boulevard, The company has thereby been able to control the appearance of the entire Ft reel.

It has been abl also to prevent the erection of houses that would injure the looks of the section as a beautiful residence district. All of the houses that are being built have been designed by a good architect, not entirely on the individualistic iJea. but fit harmoniously into a beautiful community of homes. The result is most attractive. The houses on the north side of the street have been completed and now the hotnes on the south side are being erected.

The effect Is such that Forty fourth street within these two blocks is decidedly distinctive.
