Railroads Theme Barbara Draper At McKinleyville Queen Of EHS Pack Meeting Sweetheart Ball Arcata Railroads was the Barbara Dra er was crowned tiieme'of the recent meeting of Sweetheart' at the Sweethe; the McKinleyville Cub pack No.j Ba11 Glenn J. Miss Draper, a junior, sponsored by the a cappela choir, was chosen for the title from six finalists. The finalists Nancy Hadley, sponsored by the Big Alice Hamblock, representing the Key club; Dawn Jorgenson, sponsored by the Latin club; Sandy Robin son, from the C. S.

and Leslie Shore, sponsored by the senior class. Music for the annual ball, sponsored by the Girls' league, was furnished by the Fortuna high dance band. The dance was held from 9 p. m. until 12 p.

m. Kay Carlson, chairman of the social committee was in charge of the dance, assisted by her co-chairman Louisa French. Other committees for the ball were: Nancy Anderson and Nola Dondero, refreshments; Donna Evans and Barbara Ansak, publicity; Freda Wood, Martha Feely and Eva Beal, crowning; Berle Guyot and Diane Peters, queen contest; Lynn Cannam, and the girls league decoration committee, general decorations; Nancy Stiles, Sally Ballard and Eleanor Nelson, exercise room decorations; Joyce Biasca and Beverly Chambers, bids; Bea Brown, Ann Metcalf and Gerry Becker, tickets; and Virginia Morrison, personnel. recently. 1 under the leadership of Mrs. Helen Damgaard had an interesting railroad exhibit. Den No. 2 presented a skit "Railroad Train," under the direction of Mrs. Clay Holmes and Den No.

4 presented a skit, "Casey Jones on the Railroad," with Mrs. Savage directing the play. Each den had exhibits on display. Cub Master Walter Spalding presented the following badges: Den No. 1 James Damgaard, gold arrow; Marshall Christiansen, gold arrow; Eugene Whitehead, 1 year service star, and Allen Christiansen, bobcat pin.

Den No. 2 David Sullivan, lion badge and one gold and one silver arrow; Dick Severson, bear badge and 1 denner stripe; George Cratty, 1 silver arrow; Norman DeVere, wolf badge, and Neil Campbell, bob cat. Den No. 4 Ronny Chase, wolf badge; Paul Blake, wolf badge and 1 denner stripe; Frank Allard, wolf badge and 2 denner stripes; Gordon Sfcaggs, wolf badge and 1 denner stripe; Warren Jensen, wolf badge and 2 denner stripes; Dwight Savage, wolf badge and 1 denner stripe. Boy Scout Gary Harper received a den chief cord.

After the presentation of awards, the meeting was adjourned. The pack leaders also held a committee meeting after the program to plan the program for next month. Leaders present were Herman Christiansen, Antone Lorentzen, Mrs. Clay Holmes, Mrs. Herman Christiansen, Dr.
