When an incident like the following occurs right here at home it is bound to' carry weight with our readers. When so many strange occurrences go the rounds of the press; are published as facts; when the intelligent reader knows they cannot be true, there is no wonder people become skeptical On one subject skepticism Is rapidly disap pearing. This is due to the actual personal experience of oar citizens, and their public utterances regard raja them. The doubter must doubt no more in the face of such evidence as this. The public statement of a reputable citizen living right here at home, one whom you can see every day, leaves no ground for the skeptic to stand on.

I Mrs. W. R. Jones, of 37 MUHgan street, says: have been a sufferer from kid ney complaint for three or four years. There was a place about the size of my hand right oyer my kidneys which ached most all the time but was much worse in the night Often it pained me so that I had to get up at 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning, dress and move about for it was not' quite so bad when I was up.

There was some of this same mlsery in my limbs, but not quite so bad as in my back. On first reading about Doan's Kidney Pills I did not know whether to give them a trial or not feeling that it was Impossible for anything to help me, but at last deciding to see'what they i would do ort me I went to Bradley Bros' drug store and got a box. I felt the beneficial effects of their use almost from the start and continued the: treatment I am now glad to say that I am much better and stronger in every way than before I used this valuable Doan's Kidney Pills for sale by all dealers. With 160th Indiana regiment, Chickamauga Park, July 18, 1898. It does seem that at last we are to have a chance at a southern trip, and that to Porto AH day long the boys have been feeling in excellent spirits and every once in a while some fellow had to let off extra steam, and gave a yell. This afternoon 58,000 rounds "of ammunition were to us, which "with what we had on hand before, gives us nearly 100,000" rounds. Tomorrow the revolvers holsters and belts, which will come in, will be distributed among the officers. We are full now in all our supplies', except a few extra pairs of trousers.

It is a significant fact that the neighboring regiments have not received these extra rounds ot ammunition, and they appreciate this fact too, as the 31st Michigan and the 1st Georgia, usually the noisiest of the division, were exceedingly quiet today. It is. reported theregiments that showed the fewest sick were selected to travel In a few "days now Lieutenant Glasscock, who has acted as our ordinance officer, will have completed his duties and will return to his regiment. Over $50,000 worth of ordnance, not counting ammunition, has passed through his hands and been distributed to the regiment. Five members of Company have been court martialed for absenting themselves from camp for sometime.

A prominent feuture of fashkm as regards fabrics is among silks, which will be more universally worn than they have been in mwiy seasons, and the assuring element on this side of fashion ia the fact that a remarkably good quality can now be purchased at an astonishingly low pricefor instance, a very pretty striped or' checked taffeta at 69 and 69. cents a yard.

A silk gown ia necessity in any sort of fashionable dressing, and in these times of wonderfully low prices the number is not necessarily limited to one or two. Between the elegant brocades and the simple, inexpensive foulards, indiaa and surahs there is a great variety of silks most tempting and beautiful, which cannot fail to please every taste and accommodate every purse. In general favor they take precedence over the very fashionable grenadines, etamines and other transparent textiles, for the reason that these tempting goods require the prios of a second dress owing to tbe fact that they require a handsome silk lining.
