weeks ago he suffered a paralytic stroke Dr Morris whose home was in Uniontown was a well known den tist practicing in Evansville for more than 20 years About seven years ago he moved to Chicago but was making arrangements to return to the Indiana city when he be came ill He is survived by his widow who was Mrs Mary Overstreet Birk of Owensboro and two step children Mrs red ischer of Evansville and Charles Birk of New Mexico Mrs Ella Overstreet of Owensboro is Dr mother in law and Mrs Will Overstreet and Booth are sister in law and broth er in law respectively The body was taken to the home of Mrs ischer in Evansville to the items of the budget bill as in troduced in the house The house approved the bills of Tyler Munford (D) Morganfield to provide that the three per eent sales tax be levied on automobiles and trucks purchased outside of Kentucky for use in Kentucky Munford explained the bills were intended for the protection of auto bile and truck dealers especially in the border counties Kelly rancis (D) Stanford questioned the validity of the bills Munford said they had been draft ed by the attorney de partment and phrased for the pur pose of meeting objections as to their Seen Two other children a daughter June 18 and a son Daniel 16 said they were struck by their father in his rampage and fled in terror from the house The daughter Shirley despite her wound was making her way to the garden of their home when police reached the scene Rectanus has been a member of the engineering staff of the Amer ican Rolling Mills company since 1900 He resigned as vice president in charge of operations on May 15 1932 but still retained his vice presidency Coroner Cook ascribed the act to temporary insanity from some un known cause Children Horror Stricken The children still horror stricken said that as far as they knew their father arose from his sleep early today and began striking his Alma 42 with his fist Her screams aroused other members of the fam ily Crowding into according to Henry Berry official weather ob server Although the rain fell ao hard at times flattening small plants to the ground Mr Berry ex pressed the opinion this morning that the damage to most crops would not be so great as the plant would straighten According to Mr Berry most of the ground had been recently cul tivated by farmers following rain of the last few weeks and the soil was in such condition that th water could be absorbed rapidly Al though some low places were de luged and considerable water stood most of it had disappeared thia morning Tobacco Plante Damaged Some hail fell in various section of county and tobacco plant were damaged to some extent The plants are still quite small and th damage was not thought to great Streets in Owensboro were ed for several hours settle as much as a foot and crew were busy today repairing thi damage Many automobiles were "drowned in passing these points and many others were water soaked while parked on the streets On garage reported servicing nineteen such cars Many others were left by their owners to dry out with ths weather One taxi line reported two cabs drowned out during the storm Street lights were out in a large section of Owensboro early in the night and some electric circuit were all night it was report ed at the light plant Lightning and wind were responsible for most of the damage to the electric lines to day in affirming judgment of ranklin circuit court which inval idated a number of acts of the reg ular 1934 legislature not signed by Lieut Gov A Chandler gave impetus to reports that Gov Ruby Laffoon may call another special session of the General Assembly to re enact several of the held void Several administration leaders said the governor probably would issue a call for another special ses sion to convene several days after the present session adjourns The proposed session would consider only those bills knocked out by to court ruling Such a session administration leaders said should not last more than ten days Judge Charles I Dawson has or dered a judgment and decree enter ed in the case of the American Trust Savings bank against the Owensboro City railroad company in which judgment for $200000 is given to the savings bank and $200 000 to the Louisville Trust company as trustee for the bondholders of the Railroad company A Carson Evansville Ind who has been receiver of the Owensboro City Railroad company for many years was named by Judge Dawson to sell the property of the railroad company The prop erty consists of the street cars rails tro'ley wire and
