institute any project which will increase community safety I know that a man capable of creating and detailing these departmental improvements as I have done is capable of effecting them as administrator of Tehama Sheriff Department We have 28 qualified men presently employed as deputies I want to give them the proper tools leadership and incentive to make their jobs into careers I have offered changes that will result in our deputies having pride in their uniform department superior officers and themselves because they will have a clear set of departmental procedures to work by will be con-tinually strengthened by in-service training3t)d be backed up by a deputy reserve unit as skilled and knowledgeable as themselves The Sheriff of Tehama County should not only be able to change wit 1 the times but be ahead of them through education of the public in measures that will deter crime The Sheriff must not only be a qualified administrator but a knowledgeable skilled up-to-date leader capable of assisting his deputies in the field As a 33 year old working aw enforcement officer with a wife and two young sons I nave a vital stake in the future law enforcement of this county I
