Clark action came as a surprise. He had taken charge of Rose athletic when they were at the lowest ebb ii history and had put the Fighting Engineers on the map In every branch of sport. Always a hard worker, the athletic director gave his best to the institution and accomplished much with the material at hand.

Back in 19C8 Clark was named athletic director cf Rose, remaining unto 1911 when accepted a position with an Indiana pells newspaper.
