W. Werts, Republic, Kansas, Dear Sir: death. The little fellow had been riding on the wagon with his father, who was hauling corn to market at Hardy. He had made several trips and was used to riding on the wagon, but in some manner he fell off under the wheels and was almost instantly killed. The remains were brought here this morning and shipped to Dorchester, theformer home of the parents, for burial.

Dean was born in Mt. Morris, N. Oct. 4, 1834. In early life he'moved to the sta-te of Michigan and later to Fulton, where he married Miss Lucy J.

Duncan in 1857. In 1885 he moved to Delphos, Kansas and has made that his home since that time. He died at the home of his son, H. P. Dean of Delphos, October 17 "191 2, aged 78 years and 13 days.

A very distressing accident happened two miles east of Hardy yesterday when the little four year and six months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Vaunch fell from a wagon and was run over and crushed to East Side Grocery.
