WEIIlngton 5-1724 WEST Sfl! Madlses St.tMion EStbrek 9-7500 EUclid 4-3720 ABE REJECTED BY WHEATON Residents of Wheaton high school district 95 yesterday voted down a proposal to issue $3,285,000 in bonds to build a new high school. The vote was 3,891 to 3,424.

Last September a similar proposal was approved by a three vote margin but the count was challenged and a county judge declared the vote a tie. Addition Is Urged Opponents of the proposal had argued that an addition be built to the existing high school rather than construct a separate structure. They also objected to the proposed site because it is near a bowling alley. In another referendum, residents of elementary school district 147 in south Cook county yesterday voted down proposals to raise the educational fund tax rate 10 cents and to issue $650,000 in bonds. Figures Are Given The proposition to hike the tax rate, from $1.11 to $1.21 per $100 assessed valuation, was voted down by 683 to 298.

The request to issue the bonds to build a new school, erect an addition to another, and renovate two existing structures was beaten by 658 to 341 votes. The district is bounded by 135th place, Ashland and Western and 157th street and encompasses portions of Harvey, Blue Island, Posen, and Dimoor. TEACHER UNION FIGHT ON SCHOOL SIT-INS The Chicago Teachers union expressed opposition yesterday to "invasions of the public by individuals or groups of people." Such "sit-ins" tend to disrupt and prevent the orderly process of educating children, the union said. The union proposed recently organizations wishing to determine class sizes or find empty classrooms establish committees of two or three per- sons.

The committees would be ac-; companied thru the buildings by a representative from Supt. Willis' staff. The union pointed out that for several years there has Ibeen a rule that no one, with the exception of pupils, teachers, and school personnel, be al-i lowed in school buildings with-out authorization from the fcchool prinicipal. The union urged the board of education to enforce the rule with the help of law enforce-i ment agencies. It also called for "vigorous prosecution of any and all persons who invade the public schools without proper authorization."
