Members of an oil exploration found the aircraft, in a remarkable state of pres-( ervation, in April, 1959. An army spokesman said the two Gls were found by an army helicopter Saturday 15 miles east of a search base camp in Libya. He said the men identified earlier as Sgt. Jarvis M. Wheeler, 32, of Livingston, and Pvt. Ronald H.

Bingman, 19, of Albany, Cal. were described as "well." Huge Ground-Air Search The rescued men were being brought back to a search camp some 500 miles from Benghazi headquarters of an intensive ground -air search that combed some 2,500 square miles of desert before the two soldiers were found. Announcement of the rescue was made by the army's European headquarters here and confirmed by a spokesman for air force headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany. called Saturday for quick action to save farmers from "a depression from which they may never recover except as hired hands for some huge corporation op eration. The solution, he said, must be based on the preservation of the family farm. Passes Up Primary "In this, there is clearly a fundamental difference between the parties," he said. "Our Republican friends don't seem to appreciate that farming is not just a business operation, but also a way of life." Symington's address was prepared for a Jefferson-Jackson day dinner staged by Nebraska Democrats as a climax to their primary election campaign. Symington passed up the Presidential preference portion of the primary Tuesday in which Sen.

John Kennedy Mass. will be the only candidate. Instead, the Mis-sourian has been bidding for support directly to candidates for delegate to the national convention. Pounds at Farm Issue Kennedy also was on the program. He spent the early part of Saturday back in West Virginia campaigning against Sen.

Hubert, Humphrey of Minnesota. The West Virginia primary also will be Tuesday. Humphrey disignated Gov. Orville "Freeman of Minnesota to represent him at the dinner: Nebraska is an agricultural state which in 1958 voted in its first Democratic governor in 18 years and replaced two Republican congressmen with Democrats. Symington has pounded at the farm issue hard on each visit to Nebraska.

He told the Democratic dinner that "as long as the administration follows the policies of agriculture secretary Ezra Taft Benson Benson as long as the President threatens to veto a new approach as he has vetoed five previous Democratic farm bills it will be very difficult to get America's farmers on the road to prosperity." The trouble with the Republicans, he said, is that they have offered low price supports to combat low prices, advocated unrestricted production in the face of surpluses and imposed a burden of high in terest rates on already high costs. New York, May 7 UP) Leo 0'Mealia, 76, sports cartoonist for the New York Daily News, died Saturday at his Brooklyn home. 0'Mealia, whose drawing of a friendly, frisky lion in each cartoon became his trade mark, was a friend of nun dreds of figures in the sports world. Probably the high point of his career came in 1955, when the Dodgers, then of Brooklyn, won the pennant and the News filled its front page with his cartoon of a triumphant Brooklyn "bum." 0'Mealia, born in Le Roy, N. Grace H. Waterman of Dayton, 0. DEMOCRATS IN MICHIGAN BOOM GOV. WILLIAMS Boosted as States' Favorite Son Grand Rapids, Mich, May 7 UP) Shouting, sign waving Michigan democrats boosted Gov. G.

Williams stood silently before the 1,605 delegates as they marched around the convention floor for 15 minutes to show their support for the six term governor. Williams has said he will not seek a seventh term-Favorite Son Choice He will go to" the Democratic national convention at Los Angeles in July as leader of Michigan's 51 vote delega tion and its favorite son choice for the Presidential nomination. While a six piece band blared away, delegates hoisted signs proclaming: "Williams Is a Winner!" Climb to Stage Lines of demonstrators climbed to the convention stage to shake hands with Williams and his wife, Nancy. When it was over, Williams, obviously moved, told the crowd: This is an over whelming demonstration of friendship.
