Sheriff's deputies said Cava- naugh's auto crossed into the wrong lane, smashing into one driven by Roger W.

Lynch, 71, of near Hopkins Park. Lynch and his wife, Clara, 72, were in jured and reported in poor con' dition in St. Mary's. Three pas sengers in Cavanaugh's auto were treated for minor injuries. Paul Cepa, 74, of 4816 S.

La-mon injured Sept. 16 when he was struck' by a cab while crossing Ashland avenue at Di vision street, died yesterday in St. Mary of Nazareth hospital. The cab driver, John Grant, 26, of 1028 E. 46th was charged with failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian.

84th an electrician. The accident occurred in the 3400 block of Columbus avenue. Police said the boy stepped from between two stopped cars into the lane in which Kowaleza was driving. Kowaleza, who said he did not see young Morrow in time to stop, was charged with reckless homicide and failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian. Benjamin Goldman, 75, of 6818 Paxton a retired liquor salesman, was killed yesterday morning when his auto lunged into the path of an Illinois Central commuter train at 71st street and Paxton avenue.

Engineer Tells Story The engineer of the train said Goldman drove around the lowered warning gates and paused on another track before the auto moved suddenly into the path of the train, which dragged the car nearly a block. Policeman Jack Blakeslee said Goldman may have suf fered a heart attack which caused his auto to swerve in front of the train. The accident delayed I. C. trains for 30 min utes during the rush hour.

Dies After Accident Robert E. McBurney, 71, of 1020 Robertson Soifth Elgin, died last night in Sherman hospital in Elgin a few hours after he was injured in a three car collision on highway 31 in the South Elgin busi ness district. Gerald Dierking, chief of South Efgin village police, said McBurney's car was struck broadside after it skidded into the rear of another vehicle and bounced into the path of an oncoming car driven by Lee Wetzel, 26, of 263 W. Middle, South Elgin. Chief Dierking said th' auto of Kenneth Van Keuren, 31, of 71 N.

Alfred Elgin, was struck in the rear after Van Keuren stopped to let Wetzel's car pass before making a left turn. Vincent Buttice, 40, of 12407 Wentworth was killed late yesterday when the auto he was driving struck a stop sign at 115th and La Salle streets.
