12. Killed David M. Blaess, 12, of Lin jolnwood, a subdivision about 74 miles east of Joliet in New Lenox township, Will county, was killed when he was struck by a car in U. S. highway 30, about a block from his home.

The driver, Vernon Erickson, 37, owner of a motel about 10 miles east of Johet on route 30, said the boy appeared suddenly in front of the car. Reuben Bean, 71. of 546 Marguerite Elgin, was killed when he lost control of his auto and it struck a tree beside U. S. highway 20, one mile west of Henpeck in Kane county.

Train Hits Auto Carl Dean Veach. 22. of U2V2 Warsaw st, La Porte, was killed when his car was Itruck by a New York Central railroad passenger train at Pinola, eight miles west of La Porte. Veach, a bookbindery employe, was returning home I after a visit to a friend, who had escaped injury Monday night in a car-train accident, also in La Porte county. Up to midnight Monday, 178 persons had been killed in traffic accidents in Cook county since Dec.
