"It's so different from riding to a plane." exclaimed the young woman wha as her friends say, can fly anything with "I thoroughly enjoyed the trip, and I certainly had a wonderful' view of your city." she said. Miss Karhart listened with interest to plans for 'the development of the new municipal airport and told Paul If. Moore, manager, that she would certainly attend the dedication, adding that "any city administration with that much foresight deserves lots of credit." Following her ride to the dirigible. Miss Karhart went to the hangar of the Curtiss Plying Service at the Indianapolis airport, where her plane was atored to see that her craft was In condition for further flying. She herself supervised the folding back of the wings and felt the brace wires to test then tension.

Incidentally. her plane, an Avian monoplane. Is one of the first to land here that is equipped with slotted wings, a safety feature which precludes stalling. During her stay to the city she was the guest of Mr. and Mrs.

Rattle Altaian, Mrs. Carrie Tacke. Mrs. Prances Loeche and Mrs. Bertha Schultx, Indianapolis, and a brother.
