Bonnette. who is 23 and lives in the 200 block Harlem avenue, is charged with reckless driving, exceeding 70 miles per hour, failing to drive in the proper lane, failure to obey an oflicer's signal, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and displaying license tags listed to another vehicle. It was ladies' day on Gunpowder Falls yesterday when hundreds of women and children lined its banks to catch the seasonal gudgeon. One old-timer watching the women, who were dressed in everything from shorts to mink coat and Nylons to bobby sox, commented: "Ike Walton would roll over in his grave Li he could see this." Nevertheless, the weaker sex proved its ability as fisherrren or is it fisherwomen? and pulled in its share of the tiny water denizens. 'This Fish Is Looking At Me" To be sure, almost every fish was landed with a short squeal of horror, while other sounds, -rarely heard on a fishing stream, sounded from one bank to the other: "Eddie, mine's swallowed the hook. Take it off for me, will you?" "Billy, this fish is looking at me. I can't take it off the hook." "Daddy, bait my hook for me." Many of the persons out yesterday got in their cars on the spur of the moment when the day turned out to be so beautiful.

Others were in organized groups, which had been planning the outing long in advance. Hot Dogs In Lieu Of Fish One group, consisting of about 100 members of the Highland Fishing Club and their families, set up camp on an open patch of ground. While some of the members showed the women and children how to rig their tackle, others set up a keg of beer and its cooler, and others prepared a fire and started cooking hot dogs "just in case we don't catch any fish." Heavy Frost Fails To Materialize 3 Threats of a heavy eeneral frost which, it had been predicted, would have ruined Maryland's fruit crop, failed to materialize early yester day, despite winterlike tempera tures in some sections. Continuine brisk winds held down the frost, it was said, al though some was reported near flagerstown and Smithsburg in Western Maryland. Apple growers said they expected slieht losses but little other crop damage was expected.

Rising temperatures later vpk- terday and a predicted high of about 70 degrees today largely dispelled any further immediate irost threat, according to the Weather Bureau. Early yesterday the mercurv dropped to 2 decrees at Frederick and to 29 degrees at Hagerstown. The anticipated frost also had threatened the Shenandoah Valley's nineteenth Apple Blossom Festival at Winchester. Va. The two-day festival begins Thursday.
