The average maturity of that issue, however, was 173 years whereas the bonds sold yesterday had a much shorter maturity of 1216 vears. Prior to that the city sold of bonds in October. 194,7. with an average maturity of 14Mi years, at a net interest cost of 1.53 per cent.

The price of yesterday's Baltimore offering was considered highly favorable in financial quarters.
