SPLENDID LOCAL FIELD If INDIANA OPEN GOLF MEET. MILLERS AND INDIANS TO OPEN SERIES' MONDAY TENNIS NEWS. ALL THE BOXING NEWS, AMATEURS AND STATISTICS. BASEBALL ATHLETIGS INDIANAPOLIS PROFESSIONAL GOLFERS WHO WILL COMPETE IN INDIANA CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT AT COUNTRY CLUB COURSE TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY lft Riirht Diclc Nelaon. Professional Golfers' Association: Alf I course; Irwin Nelson, assistant to Lee Nelson at the Country Club of Indianapolis, and general manager of the Golf Shop Pet Hendrie, Riverside Golf Club.

Sitting Lee "Nelson, Country Club of Indianapolis Professional golfers of prominence i nthe state of Indiana have for some weeks been practicing continually for the Indiana open championship which is. to be held over the Country Club course of Indianapolis Tuesday and Wednesday. i Jack Blakeslee, who copped the open title last year with some sensational playing over the Chain o' Lakes course at South Bend, will not be here to defend his title but there will be other visiting professionals who will endeavor to keep the crown out of Indianapolis. Against this array of visitors Indianapolis club will throw as likely a group of professionals as it has beenvable to muster for some seasons. It seems that local pros are playing a little more golf this year than in the immediate past and that there is more compi4tive interest than is ordinarily the case.

i 1 tl i NT tViK rtiL T. tryA Trwlti the family is sufficiently well represented, however. Irwin is considered a dangerous man this saason. Two newcomers, eGorge' Stark and Alf WVrd, are likely to surprise many fans. Neither is a big man yet both hit long balls.

Stark has his short game down to perfection and if he happens to a fifty fifty arrangement on the breaks some of the old timers may get fooled. Ward is somewhat of a dark horse. Pete Hendrie needed seme good golf the other day and came in 3, 4, 3 at his course and this is typical Hendrie golf. Roy Robertson will 'hit as far as anyone playing and, can becountcd on to be right up there when the final count is in. 'i All in all, Indianapolis to be more than well represented in the pro end of this open affair and as for the amateur end of it it looks like a rough sea for any invader.

Arrangements for tha oil colored boxing show to, beheld In Tomllnion hall next Tueaday night have been completed and the majority of the ftghtera ar no win Indianapolis fin ishing np their training. Danny Edward ta attractlnr no end of attention and hts bout with Hun Rhodea Is expected to more than empty the avenue. Ktwatda la a col ored tltleholder and Rhodea doea not know what defeat mesne.
