HARDGROVE, retired Federal Employee died at Manor Care Ruxton on November 1, 1994 efter a long illness. He had retired from Goddard Space Flight Center in 1973 where he was in charge of the Building Construction Program since 1960 and had receive a meritorious service award. Prior to that time he worked at the Baltimore District US Core of Engineers in the Military Construction Program. During his service with Baltimore District he hed been a member of the professional engineering Team which went to Salzburg, Australia to aid in the rehabilitation of Germany after WW II. In 1955 he wes a member of the Engineering Group sent to Scran-ton, PA to aid in the cleen up end re establishment of the Area Flood Control Progrem after the damaged ceused by Hurricane Diene.

Mr. Hardgrove wes gradu-ate of Baltimore Poly Technic Institute and eerned his Civil Engineering Degree et Johns Hopkins University in 1934. He played Softball and bowled for both Baltimore District and Goddard and enjoyed going to the horse races. He wes very fond of traveling and made numerous extended motor trips to vsrious parts of North America with his friend and companion Ellen Boyce, with whom he had resided in Timonium for several years. His wife Virginia (nee June-wicz) died in 1983.
