All Welcome At All Services CHRIST Society In Anne Arundel County May Continue Campaign For $9,000 MEETING NEXT MONDAY District Chairman Will Compile Reports On Collections For Relief Work A meeting of the district chairmen of the Children' Aid Society of Anne Arundel county will be held in Annapolis Monday to compile reports on collections in a campaign to raise (9,000 for relief work this winter. The campaign opened October 11, nd if the quota has not been reached by Monday it may be continued, Mrs. Alexander Proskey, of Wardour, the campaign chairman, said last night. Heavier Demands Expected About ninety families, including 360 children, were cared for last year, and nearly 1,000 baskets of food were dis tributed.

The society also supplied clothing in needy cases. It anticipates heavier demands this winter, accord ing to Mrs. C. M. Starr, of Annapolis, the president.

The Board of Education, the public health nurses, magistrates and County Commissioners have approved the society's work and are cooperating with it Mrs. James Crabbe, of Linthicum Heights, is treasurer of the society. Albert M. Perm. Peace Massmeeting Will Be Held Monday How May Another War Be Averted? To Be Topic At Disarmament Committee Session How May Another War Be Averted? will be discussed at a massmeeting to be held at 8 P. M. Monday in Brown Memorial Church under auspices of the Baltimore Disarmament Committee, composed of Christians and Jews.

The meeting will be one of a series being held in 150 cities in the United States and Canada next week. The speakers will be Frederick J. Libby, secretary of the National Council for Prevention of War, and John Haynes Holmes, pastor of the Community Church, New York. The Rev. T.

Guthrie Speers, pastor of Brown Memorial Church, is chairman of the committee. Funeral Services Held For Dr. Williams, 65 Chief Obstetrician At Hopkin Mi- Get Caps And Gowns MISS MARY ELLEN LONG Caps and gowns were presented the fifty-eight members of the freshman class at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, of which Miss Long is vice-president, yesterday afternoon. The presentations were made by the Rev. Lucian Johnson, college chaplain.

After the ceremony, held in the presence of the faculty and the student body, the presidents of trie sophomore, junior and senior classes gave talks welcoming the freshmen to the college. WILL MARK FEAST OF CHRIST THE KING Catholics To Hold Demon stration On Seminary Grounds Tomorrow Tomorrow the feast of Christ the King will be celebrated by demonstrations in Baltimore and Washington. In Baltimore the demonstration will be held on the grounds of the new St. Mary's Seminary, Roland Park, beginning at 3 P. M.

Archbishop Curley will preside and carry the Blessed Sacrament in the procession, in which many priests, seminarians and members of the Holy Name Society will participate. The archbishop also will pontificate at solemn benediction. The sermon will be preached by the Rev. Dr. Fulton J.

Sheen, of the Catholic University of America, Father Mlhm Promoted The Rev. Andrew H. Mihm, assistant pastor of St. Katherine's Church, has been appointed pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church, Washington, as successor to the Rev. M.

Pace, spir itual director of the International Fed' eration of Catholic Alumnae, will de aver an address at the annual convention of the Maryland Chapter of the Federation, to be held today in the Lord Baltimore Hotel. The Rev. Dr. Joseph P. Christopher, assistant rector of the Catholic Uni versity, and the Rev.

Dr. Charles Her- zog, of Woodstock College, also will be speakers at the convention. Four hundred delegates representing twenty affiliated organizations will attend the convention, over which Mrs. Joseph Palmer Neer, governor of the Maryland Chapter, will preside. V.

Delegates To Convention Named Group Elected By Baltimore Chap ter No. 8 To Attend Meeting In Florida At a meeting yesterday of Baltimore Chapter No. 8, United Daughters of the Confederacy, delegates were elect' ed to the general convention of the organization in Jacksonville, No vember 15-21.

Churches belonging to the United Lutheran Church in America will hold their joint service in the Lyric Theater, and the address will be made by the Rev. Dr. Fred B. Hax, chairman of the board of Capital University, Columbus, Ohio. Community Services Planned Community evangelistic services, under auspices of the Baltimore Federation of Churches, will open at 3 P.

M. tomorrow in Union Square Methodist Episcopal Church, with twelve churches of the neighborhood cooperating. The Rev. Dr. George W.

Cooke, of the Genesee Methodist Episcopal Con ference, will conduct the services. To Take Food To Church Members of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Colgate, will take canned goods and other foods, used clothing and shoes tomorrow to the harvest home services of the church. These gifts will be distributed among the needy. Bishop Beecher To Preach The Rt.

Rev. George Allen Beecher, Bishop of Western Nebraska, will preach tomorrow night at the Prot- estate Episcopal Church of St. Michael and All Angels. Choir To Sing In Theater The Westminster choir will sing in the Lyric Theater November 5 un der auspices of the Baltimore Federa tion of Churches. The choir will be directed by John Finley Williamson.

Evangelistic Meetings Planned John Moses Baker, evangelist, will open a series of evangelistic meetings November 8 in South Baltimore Methodist Episcopal Church, of which the Reu. C. D. Taylor is pastor. The services will continue each evening, with exception of Saturdays, until Novem ber 22.

Reaffirms Loyalty To 18th Amendment Maryland Baptist Union Group Order Copy Of Resolution Sent To Hoover Resolutions reaffirming loyalty to the Eighteenth Amendment were adopted yesterday by the Maryland Baptist Union Association meeting in Brantly Baptist Church. The secretary was in structed by the convention to send a copy of the resolutions, to President Hoover. The resolutions also stated "that we give our support and prayers to those organizations and persons who stand for strict enforcement of these laws, and that we increase our efforts in educating our children concerning the evils of the liquor traffic, in our homes, our churches and our public schools." The resolutions were presented by the Rev, J. H. Morton, pastor of Fulton Avenue Baptist Church and chairman of the resolutions committee.

ADDRESSES UNIVERSITY CLUB Dr. Welch Cpena Season't Series Of Field Nightt Opening this season's series of field nights, Dr. William H. Welch, professor emeritus of the history of medicine at the Johns Hopkins Medical School, addressed a meeting last night members of the University Club. Dr.

Welch is president of the club. Having returned recently from Eu rope, where he was the principal speaker and guest of honor at several international congresses, Dr. Welch spoke on European medical and scien tific congresses and celebrations. Charles S. Wight, 82, Dies Of Heart Trouble General Freight Representative Had Been Employed By B. O. For 54 Years Charles S. Wight, 82, general freight representative of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, died yesterday morning at his home in the Green Hall Apartments.

'He had had heart trouble since last June. Mr. Wight had been continuously in the service of the Baltimore and Ohio for fifty-four years. Previously, in his sixty-seven-year career, he had been with the Little Miami Railroad. He was born at Galena, 111, August 9, 1S49, and had been general freight representative here since 1918.

Mr. Wight is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. J. M. Stovall, of Stovall, and Mrs.

T. J. Grahame, of New York, and three sons, C. C. Wight of Kimball, O.
