Senator Kern said he was glad to get back home, and expected to remain In the city for some time. Senator Kern declined to make any definite statement In regard to the new Jones primary law. "The last few days of the congress were such busy ones." he said, "that I did not have time to read the Indianapolis pa pers and am not familiar with the Jones primary law, or any of the legislation that was enacted by the Indiana legislature. I understand, however, from what I have heard, that tbe Jones -law is a good one, and that the legislature Just cioaea was a successful one." To Study the Law. Senator Kern said that he intended to make a study of the Jones law, as well as other laws passed by the legislature- at the earliest possible moment, and that he would be more able to express an opinion on the primary law after be had studied it.

Senator Kern said he intended to remain at home, taking a rest and to some business after which he probably would visit in different parts of tbe state. He said he naa no aeunue plans for the Immediate future. Mexican Situation Complex. Speaking of the situation in Mexico, which Is causing considerable apprehension In administration circles. Senators Kern said' the whole situation was so complex that- it IS hard to make any definite statement of what the outcome is likely to be.

Smith Indicted by crana Jury for Killing Hollingsworth.

Casslus C. Smith, who Is recovering at the city hospital from injuries inflicted by himself, after he shot and killed his (ather-in-law, Marcellus Hollingsworth, February 19, has been Indicted by the I Marion county grand Jury on the charge of murder in the first degree. The shoot ing occurred near New Augusta. included in the report containing tne indictment against Smith were eleven other Indictments. One hundred and twelve indictments have been returned by the grand Jury, which has been in session since January 11.
