David B. Warburton DEATH NOTICES Gerald J. Balrd of the Rocky Hill Veterans Home and Hospital, a A A rirtT a OLINSKI. Louis J. Olinskl, 76, of 12 Marshall Drive, Enfield, died Sunday (Aug.

9) at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Mass. He was born in Westfield, moving to Enfield in 1962. He was formerly employed by Pratt Whitney, Hamilton Standard and retired from Emhart Corp. In 1975. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a communicant of St.

Martha's Church. He is survived by a son, Louis A. Olinskl of Enfield; a brother, George Olinskl In Massachusetts; two sisters, Mrs. Val Flanagan in Florida and Mrs. Ann Quinn in Virginia; and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, 8:45 a.m., from the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, followed by a liturgy of Christian burial, 9:30 a.m., in St. Martha's Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery with military honors. Calling hours are today, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

SEARLE. Louis Searle, 78, of 376 Wallingford Road, Durham, retired commercial egg producer and lawyer, died Monday (Aug. 10) at Middlesex Memorial Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived in the Durham area most of his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II and graduated from St.

John's University and St. John's School of Law. He was admitted to practice before the New York Bar. Mr. Searle owned and operated his own egg business, both wholesale and retail, for 30 years, retiring In 1974.

He was past president of the Central Connecticut Co-op in Manchester, a past president of Colchester Jewish Aid and was a member of B'nai Brith and the Jewish War Veterans. He leaves his wife. Pearl (Meisler) Searle; three sons. Dr. Bernard M.

Searle of Livingston, N.J., Frederic M. Searle of Durham and Jonas R. Searle of Vernon; two brothers, Hyman Srulowitz of Durham and Joseph Stuart of Santa Monica, a sister, Mrs. Lillian Grower of Melbourne, and four grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday, 1 p.m., in the Colchester Jewish Aid Synagogue, Mill Street, Colchester, with interment in the synagogue cemetery.

James P. Sheehan, 91, of 49 Church Wethersfield, husband of the late Margaret (Donahue) Sheehan, died Monday (Aug. 10) at Middlesex Memorial Hospital. He was born in Dunquinn, County Kerry, Ireland, and had resided in Hartford area for many years. Prior to his retirement in 1958, he was employed as a bus driver for the Connecticut Co.

He was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a former member of VFW Post 254, a charter member of the Cladagh Club of Enfield, was a past member of St. Lawrence O'Toole's Holy Family Laymen Retreat League, was a vice president of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 425 and was a member of the Irish American Home Society. He leaves three sons, James L. Sheehan of Nauga-tuck, John J.

Sheehan of Wethersfield and Thomas M. Sheehan of Ellington; a daughter, Margaret Myers of Bethel; a brother, Lawrence Sheehy of Navan, County Westmeath, Ireland; 21 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters, Mary S. Quinn and Kathleen S. Pitkin.

The funeral will be Wednesday, 9 a.m., from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 96 Webster Hartford, followed by a mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m., in Our Lady of Peace Church, May Road, East Hartford. Russell H. Shailer 97, of the Shailerville section of Haddam, husband of Emily (Slop-er) Shailer, died Sunday (Aug. 9) in Chester after a long illness. He was born in Shailerville, Sept. 12, 1889, son of the tate Russell H.

and Lydia S. Shailer. He was a graduate of Bristol High School, class of 1908, a member of the First Baptist Church of New Britain since 1912, was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the Eddy-Glover Post American Legion. He was also a past president of the Shailerville-Tylerville Cemetery Association. He was retired from Emhart Corp.

in 1958. Funeral service will be Wednesday (Aug. 12), 1 p.m., in Swan Funeral Home, 211 Main Deep River. Burial will be in Shailerville Cemetery, Haddam. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, noon until time of the service.

SINGER. Herschel Harry Singer of West Hartford, died Aug. 7 at John Dempsey Hospital. Born in New York City, he had lived in the Hartford area for many years. He graduated Bacon Academy and University of Michigan.

He was personnel interviewer for Connecticut State Employment Service, later retiring from Pratt Whitney. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude (Kaplan) Singer; two sons. Dr. Joshua Singer of Shrewsbury, and Dr. Ethan Singer of San Diego, five grandchildren.

Mala, Leah, Ellye, Sari and Kayli; a brother, Ben; and a sister, Sarah. Private burial services were held in Wethersfield. TILLOTSON. Clinton Edward Tillotson 70, of Largo, died Aug. 7, 1987, after a long illness.

He is survived by his wife, Marion; three sons, Clinton Edward Tillotson II of Waterbury, Glenn Tillotson of Southington and Raymond Tillotson of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Deborah McCurda of St. Petersburg, Fla. A service will be Aug. 14, 1987, 7 p.m., at the International Mortuary, Pinellas Park, Fla. mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, 8 a.m., at the Rocky Hill Veterans Home Catholic Chapel.

Martha (Dresser) Bor- stel, of East Granby, wife of the late Raymond E. Borstel, former- ly of Chester and Falmouth, Maine, died August 10. She is sur- vived by a son, Joseph Cobb of Gray, Maine; two daughters, Carolyn Phillips of East Granby and Trudance Anderson of Stone- ham, a step-son Bill Borstel t. of LaPlace, and 11 grandchil-j and three great grand-chil-i dren. BROWNE. Sophie (Naaman) Browne, 76, of 143 Red Stone Hill, -v Plainville, died August 10, 1987, at New Britain General Hospital af- ter a lengthy illness. Born in Plain- ville, January 24, 1911, she attend- ed local schools, graduating from Plainville High School Class of 1928.

She was married for the last 55 years to Herbert J. Browne Sr. Mrs. Browne was a member of Re-J deemers A.M.E. Church, affiliat- ed with the church Conference Workers, Matron's Club, Willing 4 Workers, church choir and Sunday school.

She was past matron of Na-k omi Chapter No. 9, Order of East- ern Star, the Daughters of Isis, and the Ladies of the Gold Circle, Mrs. Browne served on the Plaints ville Board of Education for 17 years, two of which she served as chairman. She was a former vlce- president of the Hartford County i YWCA. She served as secretary of V- ne Plainville Republican Town i Committee for many years.

Mrs: Browne was a former president of the Connecticut Yankee Girl Scout Council which recently presented her with her 30 year membership l- pin. She served on the advisory boards of Bristol Savings Bank and Tunxis Community College Foundation. Mrs. Browne was a co-founder of the Plainville Hu-i man Relations Council. She also served as treasurer of the former Central Connecticut Mental Health Association.

Mrs. Browne was a past member of the board of the Visiting Nurses Association. She was also a member of the Plainville Citizens Center. Mrs. Browne was a recipient over the years of several awards, among i them, 'Citizen of the Year' pre- sented by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Madeley-Roberts Post.

She also received, along with her hus- band, the 1977 'Outstanding Citi- zen Besides her husband, i Mrs. Browne leaves three sons, Herbert J. Browne of Plainville, G. Gilbert Browne of Wallingford, Robert M. Browne of New Britain; a daughter, Karen L.

Browne of Hartford; a sister, Mrs. Laura I Knight of Bloomfield; five grand- children; two great-grandchil-l dren; three cousins; and two nieces. 9, 1987) at Saint Francis Hospital Medical Cen- ter. He was born in Monson, Mass. A. Goldberg, owned furniture store Agnes Weinstein Goldberg, who operated a furniture store in Hartford and Avon for many years, died Monday at her Bloomfield home. She was 77.

She co-owned the former Yorke Furniture which was on Church Street in Hartford for about 32 years before she moved it to a site on Route 44 in Avon. She retired several years ago. She was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and lived in the Hartford area the past 45 years. DEATH NOTICES SCHWENSFIER. Elsie M.

Schwensfier, 74, of Route 6, Hampton, died Sunday (Aug. 9) at Hartford Hospital. She was born Dec. 10, 1912, in Greenwich, and was a former Hartford resident, moving to Hampton in 1970. She was a member of the Women of the Willimantic.

She is survived by her husband, Paul F. Schwensfier; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Linda Schwensfier of Tolland; a daughter, Janet M. Shea of Paw-tucket, R.I.; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Willimantic. Burial will follow In South Cemetery, Hampton.

Calling hours are today, 7-9 p.m. WARBURTON. David B. Warburton, 50, of Chicago, formerly of East Hartford, died Saturday (Aug. 8) at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, III.

He was born in East Hartford and was a chef in Chicago, III. He was predeceased by his father, Bennett Warburton. He is survived by his mother, Alice (Jones) Warburton of East Hartford; two brothers, Robert Warburton of Marlborough and Richard Warburton of East Hartford; two sisters, Mrs. Janet Barrow of Ellington and Mrs. Kathleen Banis of Vernon.

Gilligan and Robert E. died Sunday (Aug. 10) at St. Mary's Home and Hospital, West Hartford. She was born In Rock-ville, daughter of the late Maurice A.

and Isabelle (Doherty) Jackson, and had lived in Hartford most of her life before moving to Rocky Hill 27 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Travelers Insurance Cos. 46 years, where she served as a legal secretary for 42 years. She was a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center for over 20 years and was also a member of its Women's Auxiliary.

She was also a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Hartford, the Travelers Retirees Club, the Rocky Hill Stepney Senior Center, the AARP, St. James Catholic Women's Club and a communicant of St. James Church. She is survived by a sister, Mildred (Jackson) Sluzinski of Windsor; a brother, Francis M. Jackson of Wethersfield; seven nieces and nephews, Adeline Lee of Manches- ter, Nancy Dennis of Berlin, Edward Sloan of Manchester, Mary Coleman of Vernon, Gary Jackson of Westport, Marianne Huels-mann of Wethersfield and Ellen Korta of Wethersfield; 23 grand-nieces and grandnephews, and 10 great-grandnieces and great-, grandnephews.

The funeral will be Wednesday, 8:45 a.m., from the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike (Maple Avenue Extension), Wethersfield, followed by a mass of Christian burial, 9:30 a.m., in St. James Church, Rocky Hill. Walter C. Kearns, 78, of 41 Chapman Road, Marlborough, husband of the late Bertlce (Plank) Kearns, died Sunday (Aug. 9) at a local convalescent home. Born in Hazardville, he was a resident of Marlborough 20 years. He was involved in the East Glastonbury Fish Game Club, was an avid golfer and was a mar-shall at the GHO for many years.

He is survived by two sons, David W. Kearns of New Fairfield and Richard C. Kearns of Stafford Springs; two brothers, William L. Kearns and Harold M. Kearns, both of Manchester; and six grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, 9:15 a.m., from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Manchester, with a mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m., in St. James Church, Manchester. Burial will be in the Buckingham Cemetery, Glastonbury.

Lawrence, formerly of Newington, died Sunday (Aug. 9) at a local convalescent home. She was born in Bristol and had lived in Newington over 30 years. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church, Hartford, the Gold Star Mothers, OES and the Auxiliary Yankee Division VFW, West Hartford. She is survived by a brother, Paul V.

Roseen of Hartford; three sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Prouty of Avon, Mrs. Hilda Morrison of Reading, and Mrs. Lillian Kincaid of Lancaster, several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.

Nieb, 70, of Hartford, husband of the late Marjorie (Styl-er) Nieb died suddenly, August 10, at his home. He was born in Hartford and had lived here all of his life. A member of the Hartford Po-. lice Dept. for 34 years, he retired in 1974 as a lieutenant.

He later worked with the Aetna Life Insurance Co. for 10 years. He was a long time member of Cyril Methodius Church. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Mr.

Nieb was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Polish Legion Post No. 51, the Police Benevolent and Elks Lodge No. 19 B.P.O.E. He leaves three sons, John K. Nieb of Hartford, Robert P.

Nieb of Marlborough, Martin T. Nieb of Granby; a sister, Mrs. Phyllis Christianson of West Hartford; and three granddaughters. Funeral services will begin from the Taylor Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main West Hartford, Thursday, Aug. 13, 9 a.m., followed by a mass of Christian burial at St.

Antonio Nunes, 63, of Hartford, died Sunday (Aug. 9, 1987) at Mount Sinai Hospital. Born in Hoi-yoke, he had lived in the Hartford area for 40 years. He was employed by the Kon-Krete Construction Co. of Newington for many years.

He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford, and of the Portuguese Club. He leaves a brother, Francesco Nunes of West Hartford; a niece, and five nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday, 9:15 a.m., from the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain West Hartford, followed by a mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m., in Our Lady of Fatima Church. Friends may call at the funeral home today, 7-9 p.m. SCANLON. Dorothy (Savitsky) Scanlon, 62, of 601 Burnham East Hartford, died Monday (Aug. 10, 1987) at her home. She was born in Manchester and had lived in East Hartford the last 38 years.

She was employed by the Board of Education for the Town of East Hartford for the last 22 years, retiring in early 1987. She leaves her husband, Robert W. Scanlon of East Hartford; three sons, William Scanlon of Andover, and her twin sons, Joseph Scanlon of East Hartford and Jeffrey Scanlon of South Windsor; two daughters, Mrs. Karen Keramidas of Waterford and Miss Laurie Scanlon of North Canton; four sisters, Mrs. Nellie Schaub of Ellington, Mrs.

Anthony Giraitis of Manchester, Miss Frances Savitsky and Mrs. Florence Vanderbilt, both in California; and four grandsons. Funeral service will be Wednesday, 8:15 a.m., from the Callahan Funeral Home, 1602 Main East Hartford, followed by a mass of Christian burial, 9 a.m., in St. Mary's Church, East Hartford. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford.

She was born in Bronx, N.Y. and had lived in the Hartford area the past 45 years. She was a retired co-owner of the former Yorke Furniture Company. She was a member of the Teferes Israel Synagogue and the Bess 8 Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy of Greater Hartford. She leaves two sons, Stanley J.

Goldberg of Bloomfield and Arthur S. Goldberg of Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Kerman of New York, N.Y. and two grandchildren, Debra Goldberg and David Goldberg. The funeral service will be Wednesday, 1 p.m., at the Sharon Gardens Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday evening and Thursday at the home of Stanley J. Goldberg, 11 Regency Drive, Bloomfield. Joan (O'Sullivan) Kearney, 56, of 4 May Lane, Bloomfield, wife of Thomas Kearney, died Sunday (Aug. 9) at Westerly Hospital. She was born in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland, daughter of Mary (Reardon) O'Sullivan of Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland, and the late Patrick O'Sullivan, and had resided in the Hartford area for many years. She was a member of the Rosary Society of Christ the King Church and the Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Irish American Home Society.

Besides her husband and mother, she leaves three sons, John P. Kearney of Granville, Thomas B. Kearney of Monroe and Kevin T. Kearney of North Granby; a daughter, Mary Beth Kearney of Bloomfield; six brothers, Patrick O'Sullivan of Windsor, Timothy O'Sullivan of Glastonbury, Jeremiah O'Sullivan of West Hartford, Dennis O'Sullivan of Bloomfield, Jack O'Sullivan and Tom O'Sullivan, both of England; two sisters, Mary Bridget Lynch of Killarney, County Kerry, -Ireland, and Noreen Garrity of Manchester; two grandchildren, Darren Kearney and James Kearney. The funeral will be Wednesday, 8:15 a.m., from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 96 Webster Hartford, followed by a mass of Christian burial, 9 a.m., in Christ the King Church, Blue Hills Avenue Extension, Bloomfield.

KEATING. Valerie Devine Keating, formerly of Nott Street, Wethersfield, widow of John Keating died July 16 at Palm Beach Garden Hospital, Palm Beach, Fla. She leaves a son, John Keating; two daughters, Cathy Kelly and Beth Combs; and five grandchildren. Graveside services were held July 20 in Jupiter, Fla. KATSARAKES.

Daniel C. Katsarakes, 16, of 18 Wood Creek Road, Brookfield, son of George S. Katsarakes of Glastonbury and Ann (Zetes) Katsarakes of Brookfield, died Saturday (Aug. 8). He was a member of the junior class of Brookfield High School, Brookfield.

He was a member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, Danbury, and was an altar boy. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Stephen G. and Michael a sister, Laurie Jo Katsarakes, all of Brookfield; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Steven G.

Katsarakes of Peabody, his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Flora Zetes of Lynn, several aunts, uncles and cousins. RATNER. Benjamin Ratner, 69, of South Pasadena, died Aug. 1, 1987. He was a member of Temple Beth-El and its Brotherhood. He was also a member of Alpha Zeta Omega National Pharmaceutical Association, was a member of the Florida and Connecticut Pharmaceutical Associations.

He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut Pharmacy in 1940. He was retired as the pharmacist for the Veterans Administration Medical, Bay Pines, Fla. Luigl 'Gino' Delia Fiore, 65, of 454 Wells Road, Weth-ersfield, beloved husband of Ter-sicore 'Terzina' (Santilli) Delia Fiore, died Monday (Aug. 10) at' Hartford Hospital. He was born in Cellatica, Province of Brescia, Italy and lived in the Hartford area for 28 years. He was a chef at Fiano's Restaurant, Bolton for 22 years retiring in 1984 and was formerly the chef at Frank's Restaurant in Hartford.

He was a member of the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield and served as minister of the Eucharist. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Salvatore, Bernardino and Anthony Delia Fiore, all of Wethersfield; a sister, Orsolina Esposito in Italy; three brothers and sister-in-laws, Ti-berio and Armida Pace of Wethersfield, Gino and Ines Giansira-cusa of Hartford and Joe and I vana Cieri of Wethersfield; several nieces and nephews and many good friends. He was predeceased by four brothers, Nino, Piero, Giuseppe and Giovanni Delia Fiore. He was born in Monson, Mass. and settled in Stafford Springs many years ago. He was a retired sargeant of the Stafford Springs Police Dept. serving 34 years before his retirement in 1976. He was an active member of the Stafford Fish and Game Club and a past member of the Stafford Springs Fire Dept.

He was well known in the area for his fly fishing, which he enjoyed so much and the ability to teach others. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Beaulieu and a son, Donald Beaulieu, both of Stafford; a brother, Clarence Beaulieu of Monson, and several nieces and nephews. MORIARTY. William J. Moriarty, 72, of 9 King Arthur's Way, New-ington, husband of Leokadia (Ka-lafut) Moriarty, died Monday (Aug. 10) at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Bristol and was formerly of Hartford before moving to Newington three years ago.

He retired in 1982 from Connecticut State Department of Public Works, where he worked for 28 years. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge No. 19 of Hartford. He was an Army veteran of World War it and a member of the American Legion Post No. 96 of West Hartford.

Besides his wife, he leaves a brother, Thomas Moriarty of Newington; several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm Rocky Hill. He was retired from Pratt Whitney, division of Unit- ed Technologies of East Hartford in 1977.
