Cliff W.Gilmore Cliff W. Gilmore, 77, of 540 Stella ct., Elgin, retired Chicago refrigeration engineer, died Monday at the Hillcrest convalescent home, Elgin. State st., Elgin. Frank J. Fox Services for Frank J. Fox, 73, former south side resident and a retired employe of the Continental Illinois National jBank and Trust Company of Illinois, will be held Wednesday in San Francisco. He died there Sunday. He was with the bank for 42 years and retired in 1947 as a -savings customers' man. Two sisters and two brothers survive. ALBERT DEVITO QUITS AS HEAD OF UIW UNION Albert DeVito has resigned as president of the independent United Industrial Workers of America, a post he held two years, it was learned Monday, The union's executive board accepted the resignation Friday and named Jack Kilpatrick, first vice president,' to the top post. No reason was given for DeVito's resignation, but it was learned that he had been feuding for several months with Angelo Inciso, ex-con vict president of the union's local 286 and said to be the 44 power behind the throne " in the international union. The resignation was unexpected. The UIW was a local in the AFL-CIO Allied Industrial Workers, but was expelled after a series of scandals. The UIW has been under fire of federal grand juries and the Senate rackets committee." WIFE, 44, DIES IN THE PATH OF SUBWAY TRAIN Mrs. Dorothy Bracstreet, 44. of 3049 Clybourn av., was killed Monday night when she fell or leaped in front of a northbound Howard street train in the subway at Jackson boulevard. Scores of persons on the platform witnessed the accident. - Mrs. Bradstreet was identified by means of papers in her purse and labels on her clothing. The identification later was confirmed by her husband, J. N. Bradstreet. . Police said that Mrs. Bradstreet was committed to the Elgin state hospital on Nov. 24 of last year. Kenilworth Couple Lose $14,SC0 in Gem Theft Mr. and Mrs. John P. Hene-bry of 110 Abingdon av., Kenilworth, lost $14,500 in ems in a burglary in California, the Associated Press reported Monday. The jewels were taken from their bungalow at the Racquet club, Palm Springs, Cal. Mass for Frank C.
