OBITUARIES Emil F. Roehlke Emil F. Roehlke, 62, of 536 Beloit av., Forest Park, assistant cashier and assistant secretary of the Oak Park Trust and Sayings bank, collapsed and died of a heart attack Thursday on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of Westgate street, Oak Park. He had been at the bank 46 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Betty Becker and Mrs. Edna Wendt; a son, Marvin Roehlke, and five grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p. m. Saturday in St. John's Lutheran church, 305 Circle av., Forest Park. Joseph H. Freehill Fairfax, Va., Jan. 22 CD Joseph H. Freehill, 50, director of the office of price stabiliza tion during the Korean war, died Wednesday night. He was stricken with a heart ailment during a meeting of the Fair fax county board of supervi sors, of which he was a mem ber. He was Democratic candi date for Congress from Virginia's 10th district last No vember but was defeated by the Republican incu m b e n t, Rep. Joel T. Broyhill. Mrs. Helen B. C, Jan. 22 UP) Lamar Edwin Stringfield, 61, flutist, composer, and musical Pulitizer prize winner, died here Wednesday night. 1 Stringfield composed more than 150 compositions during his career. "From the Southern Mountains," an orchestral suite, was the composition which won him a Pulitizer prize in 1928. SHROEDER, SAN JUAN HILL BUGLER, DIES Long Beach, Cal., Jan. 22 W) Maj. Henry Frank Schroe- der, the nation's oldest medal of honor winner and the bu gler who sounded the charge at San Juan hill, is dead at 82 Schroeder, then a non-commissioned officer, sounded the charge during the critical battle for Cuba's San Juan hill in the Spanish-American war. Gen. Hamilton Hawkins recommended him on the spot for the medal of honor, but he wound up with the silver star instead.
