But, seeing that it's Hallowe'en when ghosts and boglins parade through radioland: Lulu McConnell won't pass a lamp post without touching it for good luck; Smilin' Ed. McConnell won't broadcast without first placing his baby's first shoe on the piano; Agnes Mocrehead will not wear an Indian bracelet or diamords; Mary McCoy will avoid placing her shoes on a dressingtable; Ted Husing won't start his day's work before lighting some candles. Barbara Maurel will avoid passanyone staircase; Donna (Marge) Damerel won't light cigarette with two others on one match; Betty Barthell won't miss a wish on the first star she sees; The Boswell Sisters won't broadcast without first braiding a lock of their hair over their right ears.

George Moran, Moran and Mack, won't knock wood except when he wants to gain entrance through a wooden door; Hal (Elmer Everett Yess) Dawson will avoid reading the last line of his script in rehearsal; Guy Lombardo won't use any microphone than the one numbered 18; Kate Smith won't fail to cross her fingers when she sings; Nathaniel Shilkret will wear a crimson Or pink tie, no matter the comments; Ethel Waters will clasp 8 lucky piece she has had for years; Gertrude Niesen won't wear anything but green. So-0-0-0-0-0 Ed Wynn, the firechief, is back! After four months of Hollywood Wynn will rejoin Graham McNamee the quartet and Don Voorhees' orchestra in the usual crazy, carefree programs. Stations WLW, KFYR, KOA and others will carry the broadcast, to begin at 8.30 Tuesday. Leopold Stokowski directing the Philadelphia Symphony orchestra will present an all request program from 8 to 9.30. Three compositions to be offered will be Beethoven's Fifth Symphony; the prelude to Wagner's opera "Lohengrin" and Tschalkovsky's Symphony No.

6. The program will be carried over the nationwide Columbia network in the U.S., and by the Radio Commission's network in Canada. CKY will carry the first hour of the broadcast, cutting off the final portion, in favor of commercial, Herald's Roundup Rangers. AIR LINES--Isn't it abut time song writers came out with something a little more robust than those sad and plaintive dirges of love's defeat? The long-suffering public has listened long enough to love troubles of countless crooners not a cheerful song or at least a song of love than was successful. A popular program of last year with the kiddies, "Old Man Sunshine" returns to CKY Tuesday at 7.35..

D. R. P. Coates reminds "On the Air" that Marion Brown has not sung on CKY commercial programs only. She ap.

peared frequently on the old CKY a8 a "juvenile" entertainer when Mr. Coats managed the station. In keeping with the spirit of the day, NBC-WENR-GOIL presents a Hallowe'en Fantasy at 9.30. John B. Kennedy offers the first in a series of interesting talks on events of the day over WTAM, WOC at 10.
