Firemen said the fuel pump apparently sprayed gasoline on the engine, and a spark probably set fire to the fuel. U.S, Department of Commerce, National Marine Fisheries ServicrJ has awarded a $16,583 grant to a Connecticut College economist to investigate the feasibility of commercial exploitation of certain fish varieties inhabiting Southern New England coastal waters. Assistant Professor Gerald R. -ij Visgilio will investigate the eco- i nomcs of harvesting, handling and marketing mixed catches of red and white hake, ocean pout, skates and small butterfish during the next 18 months. He will analyze costs of alternative storage and handling techniques and assess domestic and foreign market outlets.

TV, Radio Stations To Extend Range FARMINGTON Channel 18 T.V., by a nonprofit religious organization, and radio station WKSS will join to usef a mountaintop broadcast antenna here. The Town Plan and Zoning Commission has approved a WKSS application to build a 633-foot tower on Rattlesnake i Mountain off Rt. 6 to accommodate the radio station and WHCT-TV, Channel 18. The television station is operated by Faith Broadcasting Television Network. Channel ,8 General Manager William Fin-ley said Friday the antenna will give the stations the broadcast range of other greater Hartford stations.
