The adjoining rooms were filled with marble topped brass tables, elaborate wiener furniture and walls adorned wfth tintypes and pictures three quarters of a century old. The range was cold as the fire had died out Miss Alvine Thomas, 78 years old, daughter of the carpenter who had rebuilt his home after he and his family were driven by the fire to the lake front for safety, had been dead several days. Her body was discovered after police broke into the home when Mrs. Ann Guthardt of Hubbard Woods, a distant relative who visited her weekly, said her knockings on the door had met with no response. 1850 Bible on Table, Police found Miss Thomas lying in the kitchen near a white scrubbed pine top table, the only article her family had salvaged from the fire.

K. jected three times by the army because of a kidney condition. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cammiso, 3217 West 37th place, offered their blood.

"We know how we would feel if it were our child," the father, a railroad brakeman, said. Mrs. Mary Pappas, 1150 Huron street, declared her intention of wiring her offer to the baby's mother, Mrs. Charles Meers. "If necessary I'll go to Dallas," she said.

Another volunteer was Mrs. Catherine Myrick, 5318 Kenwood avenue, who once suffered from a kidney ailment. Red Cross Cant Help. Several of the would-be donors said they would like to give their blood to the Red Cross if they knew It would be earmarked for the Dallas child. However, Ralph A.

Baier, director of the Chicago headquarters of the American Red. Cross blood donor service, said this would be Impossible because all blood given at the headquarters belongs to the army and navy. Another suggested that the County hospital might aid, but its spokesman said that this was not feasible because of a lack of equipment and an overwhelming demand for plasma by its own patients. It was explained by Dr. Irving S.

Cutter, health editor of The Trib-t'NE, that kidney ailments may result in an enormous loss of protein, which is replaced either by diet or transfusion. PARADIS Bonnie. 10:30 a. m. in church THURSDAY.
