Mrs. Young's only public statements about the scandal were made last in an interview with the Corpus Christi Times.

"John and I have had 26 fine, good years together, and I'm not going to let. something like this destroy a relationship," Mrs. Young said at the' time. "Her allegations don't concern me. What does concern me is that anyone would take her word and report it" She and Representative Young had five children.

Mrs. Gardner could not be located for comment. Washington (AP)-Friends of Jane Young, who was found dead in an apparent suicide Wednesday, said yesterday that she had been despondent for some time. Trudeau has surgery for 'facial eruptions' Ottawa (Special) Canada's Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau has apparently had plastic surgery to remove bags under his Mr Trudeau appeared at his weekly press conference with his eyes puffy and twin strips of surgical tape down either side of his nose.

When asked what happened to his face, he replied in a jocular fashion that be had his face lifted for the fall election. His aides later explained he had had "facial eruptions" removed. Bonn When Anneliese MicheL a young student teacher from the Bavarian vineyard town of Klingenberg, wasted away and died a year ago, physicians listed the cause ot death as "malnutrition and dehydration." But Anna Michel, her mother, knew where the blame lay. "I am said, "that despite the fact that my daughter has obviously been killed by the devil, no one believes in him." This week, however, the state prosecutor offered a different opinion. He charged the dead girl's parents and two Catholic priests with criminal negligence in causing her death through exorcism.

Miss MicheL 23, who had been treated for epilepsy for six years before the 11-month attempt at exorcism, could have been saved by medical intervention up until one week before her death July 1, 1976, the prosecutor said. Authorities charged the two priests, the Rev. Arnold Renz, a former missionary to China, and the Rev. Ernst Alt, a local parish priest with abusing their position of trust by failing to call medical assistance. But the prosecutor declined to bring charges against the Most Rev.

Josef Stangl, a bishop who authorized the exorcism, and the Rev. Adolf Rodewyk, a Jesuit expert who recommended the ceremony to drive evil spirits from the afflicted young woman. The forthcoming trial of the Michels and the two priests renewed' last summer's controversy over the practice of religious exorcism, through a 360-year-old rituaL in modern Germany. Karl Stenger, the prosecutor, insisted that exorcism is not illegal under laws gu But exorcists have a responsibility to obtain medical aid when thei patient is in obvious need, he added. Bishop Stangl, in an article written after Miss Michel's death, explained that necessary medical aid must accompany exorcism, which is supposed to be nothing more than a prayer for a victim who is at the mercy of other forces and cannot pray for herself.

Other Catholic theologians maintain, however, that demonic powers may cause physical illness, and the sick person may therefore be cured by exorcism as effectively as by medicine. According to a survey of German dioceses by a news agency, only three confirmed exorcisms have been authorized in this century, all in southern Bavaria state. A bishop must sanction the ceremony, to be performed by priests who have proven their piety, prudence and integrity. A number of applications for approval have been rejected, church spokesmen said. Bishop Stangl approved the exorcism of Miss Michel upon application from her parents and a favorable report from the exorcism expert, Father Rodewyk, the prosecutor's office said.

Since 1969, physicians had been unable to cure the intensely devout, fearfully timid young woman of withdrawal and fits of violence. After repeated signs of abnormal behavior at the University of Wuerz-burg, her parents brought her home and sought religious help. Though the maximum legal penalty for negligent manslaughter is five years imprisonment, many doubt that the parents or the priests will be convicted, because of the victim's AP JANE YOUNG found shot in head Dancing in the streets French hang loose for 81 st Bastille parade the White House and Britons can give the once-over to Buckingham Palace, his countrymen and, indeed, any visitor to France, should be allowed to visit the Ely-see Palace. The show closed with the French Foreign Legion marching slowly in their leather aprons, always drawing cheers and applause. A If the parade lacked the panache of former years, the reason could have been the president's own wish, in a radio message yesterday, that France's national day should primarily be a festival of national unity. In 1974, President Giscard d'Estaing decided to reroute the march to the place where it all began, the Bastille. In 1975, he chose the Cours de Vincennes, the wide avenue leading east from the Place de la Nation where 1,300 victims of the terror were guillotined in 1794. Last year, France's leader returned the parade to the Champs-Elysees, to the joy of the police and thousands of route-lining tourists.

The gendarmes and sightseers complained yesterday that the 1977 annual explosion of national joy had to be staged on the Left Bank Chemp-de-Mars (Field of Mars), the former military exercise ground extending from the foot of the Eiffel Tower southwest toward the Ecole MiDtalrf, where Gen.
