With ths great, rugged open spaces for a background, it brings rare pictorial charm to the screen and provides a setting of grandeur to Miss Crawford's excellent performance. starring Al Jolson, opened a six-day engagement at the Palace Saturday. It is all singing and talking and is said to his most delightful picture to date.

Minstrel: show life, as outlined by Irving Berlin, is the basis of Uie story. Other Jolson hits, which have played here are "The Jazz Singer," "The Singing Fool" and "Say It With Songs." The showing here now of "Mammy" is one of the very first in the United States. Dorothy Macknill tlio cast of "The Flirting Widow" which is playing the Bijou Saturday and Sunday.
