NEWS ABOUT TOWN Members of the. Choral club of the Wives and Sisters Unit, sponsored by the Dolton-Riverdale Unit of Mothers of World Wa.r II, No. 52, will meet at the Victor Panozzo home at 14315 Oak Dolton, on Friday, Feb. 2, at 8 p. m.

The Washington P. T. A. is sponsoring a card and bunco party Thursday, Feb. 8, at 7:45 at the school.

Mrs. Edward Kay, chairman, i3933 Atlantic requests donations of prizes which may be sent to her home or school by Tuesday, Feb. 6. Tickets may be purchased from members or at the door. Coffee cake and coffee will be served at ten cents a serving.

Miss Ann Stepinski of Roseland was hostess to the Laetae Amicae club last 'Sunday, Jan. 21. Those present from Riverdale and Dolton were Misses Rosmary MdLaughlin, Jean Berschinski, Eleanor Berschin 'Florence Lau, Mrs. Joseph Schaefer and Mrs. Carl Krueger.

After the business meeting, the hostess served a hot supper. Eleanor Berschinski will entertain at next month's meeting. Miss Betty Brown of 14516 S. iClark Ivanhoe, is among forty coeds of Monmouth college, Monmouth, 111., who are winning the praise of servicemen in nearby camps for their presentation of this year's all-girl musical entertainment. After local performances, the girls were invited to stage their show at Mayo general hospital and at Camp Ellis, where they were enthusiastically received.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bales of Riverdale entertained at a family dinner ISunday, Jan. 21, for their nephew Courtland 'Stanton, who is home on a '3(X-day leave after serving in the 'European war area. Mr.

J. Van Drunen of 'South Holland were other guests. Mr. and Mrs. Bales' son, Sgt.

Leslie, who is in the amphibious tank corps of the Sixth Army, has been serving in the 'Southwest Pacific for a year and a half. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Rotvic, 13904 'Edbrooke Riverdale, are the parents of a son, Edward Milan, who was 'born January 16 at the Uoseland Community hospital. Mr.

and Mrs. Joseph Kelley of Ivanhoe and niece Adriana Brock were dinner guests Sunday evening of Mr. and Mrs. Thornton Higgins of Chicago. Mr.

and Mrs. Quintin Pettigrew announced the birth of a son who weighed six pounds, 13 ounces and has been named Quintin, Jr. Mrs. Pettigrew is the former Mary Verhoeven of Dolton, and Quintin is formerly of Harvey and a veteran of World War II. Mr.

and Mrs. Pettigrew now reside at 'Cannon Falls, where they are engaged in farming. Mrs. Rudy Ohrt of Lyons, 111., and her mother, Mrs. Luther Button of Riverdale visited Monday with Mrs.

Sutton's sister, Mrs. Ben Gass in Chicago. Mrs. Karl'S. Putnam of Ivanhoe enjoyed dinner in Hammond last Thursday evening with her son, William Wheland of 'Indianapolis, Ind.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Heino and daughter Peggy of Riverside drive, Dolton, were guests for dinner at Mickleberry's Sunday of the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.

F. 'Heino of Beverly Hills, in honor of his birthday. Mrs. W. B.

Button of LaSalle Riverdale, has been ill and confined to her home for the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Teas of Riverdale had as their dinner guest 'Sunday William Long of Vancouver, who is training under the Navy's V-12 program at Northwestern university. Mr.

and Mrs. Roy 1C. Meurisse, 14216 Edbrooke entertained at a party 'Sunday evening at their home in honor of Miss Harriet and her fiance, Capt. William S. Propper; and also for their nephew, Maj.

M. C. Hess, who is spending a 30-day leave at the Meurisse home after three years of service in the South Pacific. Mr. and Mrs.

Lehn 'Curry, 14422 La Salle entertained Sunday Mr. and Mrs. S. N. Humphries and children of Naperville, 111., and Seaman Gene Cruse of Madison, Wis.

The 'Reading Circle of the Ivanhoe Woman's clu'b will meet Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 6, at the home of Mrs. Ogden Munsonj 14312 Wabash ave. Mrs. Harrison will present the book review.

The Woman's Society for Christian Service of the Ivanhoe Community church will meet at 12:45 p. m. at the home of Mrs. R. Thoureen, 1423 Wabash Thursday, Feb.

8. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Fike, 503 E. 144th Dolton, are the parents of a baby son born Jan.

20, at St. Francis hospital in Blue Island. He has been named Thomas William. Mirs. Fike and baby arrived home Monday.

The Riverdale fire department was called out Monday evening to 132nd and Halsted st. to extinguish a blaze started when the gasoline line broke in a truck belonging to the City Ice 'Fuel company and the truck caught fire. Miss Katherine Kelley, a cadet nurse at the Illinois Masonic hospital in Shicago, was a guest for dinner and overnight Tuesday at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kelley in Ivanhoe.

The Robert Seward family, 14418 S. LaSalle street, returned Monday from a visit with relatives in Indianapolis, Ind. Mrs. 'Seward had spent the week while Mr. tSeward joined them for the week-end.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom J. Peters, 14418 Michigan will celebrate their llth wedding anniversary Friday by dining out and attending the theatre with friends. Mr.

and Mrs. William Schroder of Riverdale and daughter, Mrs. David Hess, were dinner guests of Mr. Schroder's mother, Mrs. 'Henry Schroder, Sunday in Chicago.

Mrs. Oliver Johnson of Riverdale has her niece, Miss Betty Bayles of Paxton, 111., visiting her. Week-end guests at the Johnson home were Mrs. Johnson's sister, Mrs. Bertha Taylor of Elgin and Miss 'Lois Vanderlee of Chicago.

Saturday afternoon Wallace Franke, sn of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Franke of Dolton, will mark his sixth birthday by entertaining fourteen young friends at a party. Sunday evening, Mr.

and Mrs. Franke will entertain their families and Miss Ethel Denny and Elizabeth 'Dahlgren at supper, also in honor of the occasion. Robert M. 'Seward of Ivanhoe entered St. Luke's hospital in Chicago Tuesday to undergo an operation.

She wore a colonial dress of yellow taffeta and carried a basket of pink and yellow carnations and sweet peas. The bridegroom had as his best man his brother, Cpl. Rudy, who has just returned from three years of service in the 'South Pacific. Another brother, Edward, served as usher. After the ceremony a dinner and reception was held at the Green Villa in Blue Island for 125 guests.
