Edward H. Mattick Wednesday morning. The body of the Danish diplomat, 50, fired by the United Nations, was found Thursday near a bridle path in a park in Long Island, a bullet thru his temple and a .25 caliber revolver clutched in his right hand. Dr. Richard G-rimes, deputy chief medical examiner for Queens borough said Bang-Jensen been dead less than 24.

hours when his body was found. Canvass Neighborhood The former senior political officer was ousted by the United Nations for refusing to reveal the names of Hungarian freedom fighters for fear of communist reprisals on their families. In an effort to determine his recent activities, homicide squad detectives Friday began a house to house canvass in the Lake Success neighborhood where Bang-Jensen had lived. His home is 2 miles from the spot where his body was found. Police reported Friday that they had found a neighbor of the victim who said he had overtaken the diplomat last Monday while walking along the road toward Little Neck, an adjoining community.
