In selecting plant material, choose types that will not grow large enough to block daylight from the windows and the doorway. Questions and Answers This spring the buds on my rhododendron failed te opea. Why? They were probably damaged by low temperature. Protect them next winter.

A book that is listed on your own Book Sheet identifies this plant cardamon I certainly did "goof," and my compliments to you for spotting my error, and thanks for calling it to my attention.

Ordinarily, when plants undergo reclassification like this, I give both the old clature. This time I just plain forgot to give True Ginger's new name. 1 I sent for a collection of plants that were offered on the radio, and when they came they were all dead. I tried to get my money back, but the firm won't even answer my letters. Is there anything I can do? Yes.

In the processing of large numbers of orders, there is the possibility that inferior plants may be sent out unintentionally. However, one that is stuck back of the house or relegated to a corner ol tne property is too often ignored. This need not be, for with a little planning and planting, 1t too can be attractive.

The sketch and accompanying plan illustrates a simple and in expensive treatment of a garage. The Korean barberry planted along-side the front give it some status. Vines make a pleasing contrast with the side. Uniting all the other elements of the scheme is the band of ground cover which might well be sup plemented with spring flowering bulbs for additional interest. For a southern or sunny exposure, a climbing rose such as Paul's scarlet or blaze would be very effective.
