Himself BY MAE TIN' EE The excitement which ac companied the filming of The Man with the Golden Arm has been resounding.

Seeing the picture, one wonders if all the noise was justified. If drug addiction may be portrayed on television, it seems unrealistic to bar it from motion pictures. Further, I cannot see how this film would give anyone anything but horror of such addiction and hatred of the human vultures who enslave the hapless. Undeniably, there are thousands of victims, many of them young, and anything which would show the agony of drug tvery might be a forewarn ing. In this, Sinatra's low pitched, deft, and clean cut work is the film's chief virtue. Other members of the cast, particularly the women, do not ring so true, and the conclusion seemed utterly lacking in conviction.
