Johnson, who earlier this year won the Midway Tourney at Keney, found his home course to his liking again yesterday, fashioning a pair of one-under par 34s on each nine, finishing three shots in back of Eaton. A bogey four on the 17th hole kept Johnson from a second place tie.

Jim Goshdigian, recently-turned pro from Goodwin Park, found himself in fourth place with a 70, while a trio of golfers Ike Pinckney, Jim McMillan, and Joe Perry finished at one over par 71 to tie for fifth position. Playoff Survivor In the amateur competition, where nearly 80 golfers took part, Pernell survived a pair of playoffs to win the championship event. Pernell. who calls Keney Park home, finished in a tie with Gerald Fothergill of Goodwin Park and John Vigeant Jr. of Rockledge, all of whom carded 73.

The Keney Park performer, who survived a nearly disastrous double bogey five on the third hole, defeated Vigeant on the first hole of his initial playoff, and then" waited until the final foursome of the day came in to find that Fothergill had also finished at 73.
