THE HARTFORD COURANT: Sunday, April 21, 1963 Arthur E. Kallinich Dies, Veeder-Root Director Arthur E. Kallinich, 65, of 81 LeMay West Hartford, a member of the board of directors at the Veeder-Root died Friday at his home. Mr. Kallinich was born Sept.

26, 1897 in Torrington, and lived in West Hartford for 26 years. He began working with VeederRoot in 1912 as a clerk and was promoted to the positions of field sales manager and sales manager. In 1947 he was appointed vice president in charge of catalog sales. Elected In 1953 He was elected to the board of directors in 1953 and in 1959 was made vice president in charge of new products and new businesses. He retired from the VeederRoot Co.

in 1962. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Holo-Krome Screw Co. Mr. Kallinich was a member of Franklin Lodge 56, AFandAM. Ola Henderson Hargrove, 43, of 150 Earl wife of Leonard Hargrove, died Saturday at Mt. Sinai Hospital. She was born Jan. 27, 1920, in Ogelthorpe, and lived in Hartford for 17 years. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and the Flower Club of the church.

Besides her husband, she leaves her mother, Phoebe Huff of Madison, three brothers, Alvin Henderson of Rochester, N.Y., G. W. Henderson of Louisville, and Edwin Henderson of Madison, two sisters, Miss Annie Hargrove and Mrs. Amanda Williams, both of Madison, Wis. Funeral services and burial will be held in Americus, Ga.

He was born Aug. 23, 1887 in East Hartford and lived in Hartford most of his life. He was employed at the National Fire Insurance Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1943. He leaves two daughters, Mrs.

Emily Madore Long, died Saturday at Hartford Hospital. He was born in New Brunswick, Canada, and lived in Hartford for 17 years. He was employed at Olds and Whipple retiring six years ago. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife, he leaves five daughters and two sisters out of state, 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 104 Main with a Solemn Requiem Mass in St. Peter's Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Huntington, Mass.

Blough, chairman of the Capital Funds Program of the Yale Law School, Saturday said 031.569 had been donated so far toward the program goal of 150,000. Blough, a member of the Law School Class of 1931, is chairman of the Board of the United States Steel Corp. He made the announcement Saturday afternoon at the Law School Assn. luncheon. 4 Point Program The program, as outlined by Dean Eugene V.

Rostow, has four aims: a library annex, to new purchased books for the to give financial aid to students' and to provide income for faculty development. Blough said only about 10 per cent of the school's 6,000 alumni had been canvassed so far. The $1,031,569 represents 662 individual gifts, and all but $135,000 of it came from alumni, he said. The largest single alumni gift was $50,000 from Blough himself. This was matched by $50,000 from the U.S.

Steel Foundation. The majority of gifts was donated by alumni in the New York City and Washington, D.C., areas, where about one-third of the Law School graduates live. Car Hits Fence, Rolls Onto Tank; Two Uninjured VERNON (Special) A car driven by a Manchester youth went out of control in Talcottville shortly ofter midnight Saturday and after overturning, came to rest on top of a storage tank for combustible materials. Vernon police said Raymond C. Strickland, 17, of 22 Lillian failed to halt at the stop sign at the foot of Elm Hill Road.

His car crossed over Main Street, went through a split rail fence, knocked down a section of iron railing, went down a 31-foot bank and rolled over before coming to rest on top of the tank. Neither Strickland nor a passenger, Roger F. Winter, 17, of 13 North Manchester, who was in the front seat, was injured. The Vernon Fire Department, under the direction of Fire Chief Joseph Duffin, wet down the area around the tank. The nature of the tank contents was not known, police said.

Strickland was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign. He will appear in Circuit Court 12, Manchester, May 8. Policeman William Liswell investigated. Editor's Father Dies DANBURY-Stephen P. Collins, father of the managing editor of the Danbury News-Times, is dead at 78.

A Danbury resident, he died after a long illness at a hospital in Bridgeport. Collins was a member of the board of directors of the former United Hatters of North America. Besides Stephen Collins, he leaves another son, Robert W. Collins; two daughters, Mrs. James A.

Whitney Griswold, the university's 16th president. As tributes poured into Griswold's home, details of the funeral services were announced, along with a list of honorary pall bearers. The 56-year-old Griswold died Friday afternoon at his Hillhouse Avenue home. He had been in failing health for many weeks. Griswold had undergone surgery two years ago and recently was hospitalized again, returning to his home last week.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. (EST) Monday in Yale's ivy covered Battell Chapel. Burial Private Burial in the Grove Street Cemetery will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Yale University or its alumni fund. Officiating at the services will be the Rt.

Rev. Henry Knox Sherrill, former presiding bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church, the Rev. Sidney Lovett, chaplain emeritus of the university and the Rev. William Sloane Coffin university chaplain. All classes in the university will be cancelled Monday afternoon, it was announced by Kingman Brewster acting president of the university.

Yale's only living ex president, Charles Seymour, who was succeeded in 1950 by Griswold, said Griswold "will live in the annals of Yale as an inspired educational prophet, notable contributor to her architectural distinction, magnificent in his conception of a great financial endowment and the means of securing it Miss Edith Aab Dies at Age 87, Singer, Teacher Miss Edith M. Aab, 87, of 20 Marshall well-known vocal teacher and singer, died Friday a at Hartford Hospital. Miss Aab was born in Hartford, May 1, 1875, and lived here all her life.

She began her vocal studies at the age of 14 and held her first church position at 17. Subsequently, she filled concert and oratorio engagements throughout the East under the batons of noted conductors. She gave many educational recitals for musical clubs and operthe Aab Studio, which she founded in 1908, with her nephew George W. Jones. Miss Aab was the contralto soloist at Asylum Hill Congregational Church for 11 years and was a charter member of Bethany Lutheran Church and an honorary member of the Dorcas Society.

She leaves a niece, Miss Norna L. Schoenborn and her nephew, George W. Jones, both of Hartford. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the James T.

HANNAH R. ROSENTHAL Mrs. Hannah Rosenberg Rosenthal, 70. of 311 Blue Hills widow of Samuel Rosenthal, died Saturday at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

She was born in Dvinsk, Russia, and lived in Hartford for 28 years. She was a member of the Deborah Sanatorium, the Pythian Sisters, the Yeshiva of Hartford, a life member of the Hebrew Home for the Aged, the Red Mogen David and many local Jewish charities. She leaves two sons, Seymour Rosenberg and Jerome Rosenberg, both of Hartford: a daughter, Mrs. William D. Thomas of East Hartford; a brother, Rabbi Maurice Einsohn of New York City; a sister, Mrs.

William Mosher of Larchmont, N.Y., six grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Herbert L. Granstein Funeral Chapel, 826 Albany with Rabbi Abraham N. AvRutick officiating.

Goodman, 64, News Photo Chief Diesin Waterbury WATERBURY (A) Thomas R.

Goodman, chief photographer of the Waterbury American and the Republican, died Saturday in St. Mary's Hospital. He was 64. Mr. Goodman was taken ill at work last Tuesday.

Death was attributed to a heart attack. A photographer with the two newspapers since 1924, Mr. Goodman was acclaimed for his work in sports. He took impressive photographs of football action at New Haven's Yale Bowl before photographers were allowed along the playing field. He also was praised for his coverage of ski jumping at Salisbury.

He was born in West Haven, son of the Frank T. Goodman and the former Margaret Callahan. He was a member of the Na. tional Press Photographer's the Connecticut News Photographer's Assn. and St.

Margaret's Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Louise Crochet Goodman; a sister, Mrs. Thomas McKeown of Hamden; three sons, the Rev. Robert H.

Goodman of St. Maurice's Church, New Britain, and Thomas R. Goodman Jr. James F. Goodman, both of Waterbury; four daughters, Mrs.

Maureen Shea, Mrs. Frank Walsh, Mrs. George O'Rourke and Miss Kathryn Goodman, all of Waterbury, and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Margaret's Church Tuesday at 10 a.m.

School to Offer Boys' Minstrel MANSFIELD (Special) The 16th annual Boys Minstrel Show at the Mansfield State Training School and Hospital will be held here and at two other state institutions next month. The show, presented by boys at the school with assistance of the staff, will be held May 7 at 2 p.m.; May 9 at 7:30 p.m. and May 11 at 7:30 p.m., the last performance for parents, employes and friends. On May 14 at 7:30 p.m.

the minstrel will be given at the Norwich Hospital and May 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Connecticut Valley Hospital, Middletown. Fourteen numbers are scheduled on the minstrel program. Bay State Angler, 75, Dies in Scantic River SOMERS (Special)- -A Massachusetts man died of a heart attack Saturday while fishing in the Scantic River. Joseph Carron, 75, of 51 Meadow Longmeadow, was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr.

Kallinich of West Hartford: a brother, George Kallinich of Florida; a sister, Mrs. John J. Crowley of Bristol, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main West Hartford.

The Rev. Joseph Zezzo will officiate. Private burial services will be held at the convenience of the family in Alderbrook Cemetery, Guilford.
