About two months ago Mr. Taylor a severe fall aud was confined lo the hou.sC ever since. He did not recover from the shock which left him very weak.

Jlr. Taylor was 90 years of age and was among the first settlors of Perkins township, having settled there in 1815. In 1810 Rev. John Beatty came from I Connecticut and purchased of the Fire- lauds company nearly all the laud in Perkins township. He then went back to Connecticut and laud to the father of Elory Jesse Taylor.

Jesst- then started wagons, traveling rliroui.li the then uu- broken forest. Flory Taylor wa-s then but 7 years. The family finally arrived at what is now Perkins township, erected cabins and commenced to cultivate tlie land. This tract of laud is better known as the -'Yankee Settlement." Payne. B.
