The mayor has not disclosed those he will select for the school board positions from the list of 12 nomi nees submitted to him by a nominating committee of educators and civic leaders. His appointments are subject to approval by the council.

The six new members will con stitute a majority of the 11 man school board. Their appointment will culminate a long controversy over management of the schools and an investigation of the school situation by a committee of educators whose recommendation resulted in resignation of Dr. William II. Johnson as superintendent. It was reported John Doherty, 2337 Commonwealth International representative of the United Steelworkers union CIO, would receive the nomination over Joseph Germano, district 31 director of the union, by virtue of his union rank.

Charles John Whipple, chairman of the board of Hlbbard, Spencer, Bartlett and William Bach- rach, educational director of Chicago Technical college, denied knowledge of reports that they would be nominated. Bachrach, however, was considered a good bet to receive the nomination over Prof. Floyd Reeves of the University of Chicago. Alderman Waller 43d, Moss 5th, and Bohllng 7th, leaders of the opposition, said yesterday they would demand that, the appointments be submitted to committee STREET CAR VICTIM HIM An Unidentified man, about Oft, died In Cnuntjr hoipital renterday without retaining ronacloutneaa after being itruck a atreel ar Aug. 33 at Clark and DlvUlon at.
