Annie Carson Dixon, Chicago pioneers. The Arthur Dixon public school is named after the elder Mr. Dixon. Mr. Dixon was educated in Chicago public schools and Northwestern university, lie received a lawyer's degree, but did not engage in general practice.

lie served as state senator from 1C03 to 1907, representing the 1st district. A year later he was elected a Republican presidential elector, and served as chairman of the Illinois section of the electoral college. He later served as a Lincoln Park commissioner. Mr. Dixon held numerous directorships in banks, railroads, and other businesses, but he was especially noted as a Methodist Episcopal layman.

He was for 36 years superintendent of the First Methodist Episcopal Sunday school. At various times he was a trustee of Northwestern university and Illinois Wesleyan university, vice president of the Kobe Japan college, president of the Home Mission-cry society. Chairman of Fair Exhibits. He also served as vice president of the Chicago Historical society, trustee of the Chicago Zoological Park society, and numerous other groups. In 1933 Mr.

Dixon served as chairman of religious exhibits at A Century of Progress. Although a noted churchman, Mr. Dixon was not a pacifist. He was chairman of the Defense day celebrations in 1921. The funeral for Mr.

Dixon will be held in Chicago, probably on Monday. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. 10, at 3 p. at chapel. Sol E.
