Fallon, assistant superintendent in charge of elementary schools, and her staf continued preparation of script for the daily broadcast of radio lessons for children from the third to the eighth grades. This experiment in mass education of young children by radio, Miss Fallon said, is being followed with interest by educational experts throughout the country. Newsreel pictures of school broadcasts have been made, and several out of town newspaper correspondents have arrived to cover the experiment. Miss Fallon also announced that elementary school teachers will meet today and tomorrow with music and art supervisors at their own schools to learn of the plans for the coming year. Next week all grade school teachers will begin a series of conferences in school auditoriums, Miss Fallon said, to acquaint them with the latest trends in modern educa 3 DAYS ONLM! Why should he? In the light of recent revelations, who was right?" Senator Copeland charged that Black had gained his elevation to the Supreme court by fraud." "We do not want upon the bench a man who deceives his colleagues, who leads them to believe he was not a member of the klan, a man who probably deceived the Presidenl ot the United States and who came by fraud to the highest office there is in America to which any one can aspire," declared Copeland. In all decency, the American people demand of him that he retire from the bench and never take a seat there." Gives Court Fight Reasons. His opposition to the Supreme court packing scheme was because it endangered the rights of minorities, Senator Copeland said. Every single matter mentioned in the Bill of Rights in the Constitution has been contested at one time or another in court," he went on, "and always the Supreme court has given the protection to those minorities. The groom elect, Herman A. Vogel, will escort to the altar Mrs. Martha D. Meyer, who, acting for Miss Kingma, will speak the wedding vows. The procedure is legal under Netherlands law.

Miss Kingma will leave here some time after the ceremony and arrive in Batavia late this fall. Deaths occurred, he said, within 24 or 36 hours after the disease was diagnosed.

Thousands of the children were then sent back to their homes in Chicago. "The period of incubation. is about 14 days," he said, "and this would mean the children in many cases would be starting back to school within the suspect time. The earliest days of the disease are also the most dangerous for contagion. Consequently we thought we had everything to gain and nothing to lose by closing the schools." Movie Ban Altered.

Replying to printed reports implying that it was not necessary to close the schools since more than one case rarely appears in a family, Dr. Bundesen cited seven recent examples in which there were at least two cases of the affliction in one family. In two cases two of the members also died. Dr. Bundesen announced that the ban on movie attendance by children under 16 years of age has been changed to bar only those under 13.

Dr. Bundesen, however, repeated this warning that parents should keep their children out of crowds. The only high school outside the city limits to be closed during the outbreak was one in Niles Center, which is expected to open Monday. Berwyn, one of nine suburbs which closed their grade schools, also ordered them reopened Monday. Five private schools which obeyed the board of health ban announced new opening dates.

They are Morgan Park Military academy and the Lor-ing school, which open tomorrow; the Starrett School for Girls, on Monday; the Harvard School for Boys, next Wednesday, and the Faulkner School for Girls, Sept. 27. Although unwilling to venture a prediction, Dr. Bundesen was hopeful yesterday that the recent down ward trend in the number of infan tile paralysis cases might continue, marking the end of the outbreak.

In the 24 hours ending at 9 a. m. yesterday, there was one death, making a total of 19 since the disease began to assume serious proportions on Aug. 1. The total cases in Chicago was also increased to 251 with the addition of six new cases.

"About 87 per cent of the occurring are in children 12 years old or less," Dr. Bundesen said. "In the six cases reported this morn ing, and the nine suspected cases, all were in this age group. Consequently we were encouraged in our plan to allow the lrgh schools to open. Until there is a sharp drop in the cases of the lower ase group, however, we consider it unsafe to open the elementary schools."
