B. Mo- Farland has returned here after attending to business interests -in Los Angeles. He was accompanied homo by Mrs. Lcnna Pullen Large, former resident of this place, who'vlslted Mr. and Mrs. McFarland two days before going north for a visit with friends M« the northern part of the state. E AT TAFT GYMNASIUM TAPTT Feb. 18, — The members of Boy Scout Troop No. 25 were rewarded last evening for their vigorous work of the past three weeks In pass- Ing one advancement teat per scout for each week, In the form of ft rec- ' rektloiial evening at the Lincoln school gymnasium. Claude L. Walsh, physical education director for the boys of the Grammar school was -In .charge of the activities. Basketball practice was enjoyed under Mr. Walsh's supervision and instruction. Tentative plans have been made for the boys of this troop to enjoy another tr|fl to the snow this Saturday. The next meeting of the troop will be held out of doors, at which time tl\e Investiture ceremony will take place and several new members re- nelved Into the troop. A camp fire supper will be enjoyed, and several of the out of door test requirements will be fulfilled. The site of the o.Ut of door meeting will be selected by patrol louder* nnd the scoutmaster at a tneetlnp within the next few days. All mjrnbcra of the troop were present at last evening's meeting. Abbey were recent hosts at a valentine bridge party at their Fourteenth avenue home when they entertained several of the members of the high school faculty'^- and their wives. Guests were bidden for three tables of bridge and score honors went to Mrs. Harold Olson for ladles' high, and Clarence J.,Roupe for men's high.
