The Palm 3a WE SALUTE THE DAIRY FARMERS OF THIS COMMUNITY ... on the splendid job they have been doing in bringing to market large quantities of dairy products to supply the demand at home and abroad. We regret that we are unable at present to supply the lumber needed to improve your dairy barns and other buildings as we have in the past. But we pledge ourselves to do what we can in this emergency, and in the future we will again be at your service with materials and plans and specifications. Postville Lumber Co. H. J. MEYER, Manager Telephone 196 THE DAY WILL COME! For a long time you haven't had as much butter as you want. Nobody has—because under recent price-conditions, so much milk and cream were diverted to other uses. Meanwhile, we're doing our best to supply you with the dairy foods that are available. Along with you, we hope that proposed price-adjustments will increase production to the point where delicious golden butter will again be plentiful. Harold's Cash Grocery Dairy Products Outlook Brightens For Next Fall Beset by insistent public demands for dairy foods and harried by problems of production and distribution, the nation's giant dairy industry has launched a timely informational campaign during June, which is observed nationally as Dairy Month. "Prospects for this fall are that milk, ice cream, cottage cheese and cream, barring unexpected inhibitory regulations, will be more plentiful in most areas," Scott Ellis. Dairy Month chairman, said. "Butter will be scarce until proposed price-changes have time to take effect. Cheese should be more plentiful later in the year because of supplies accumulated during the summer flush months." Now wc know the answer—there's a peace-time market (or ALL the milk we produce. In fact, you're asking for more milk than ever before. In Iowa alone, nearly 200.000 farms have milk cows. As in most slates, we're feeding them for top-production. Yet we still can't quite meet the growing demand for all dairy products— Milk.Cream, Kvaporated Milk. Cheese, Ice Cream and liutter. To all dairy tanners, this is a matter of real concern. We hope Milk production will continue increasing to the point where once more you can get ALL the dairy foods you want—even BUTTER.
