A. GOODMAN. Hartford, May 23, 1857. tfd tfwl9 FEW WORDS MORE ABOUT THE SPIRAL FURNACE. The remark 1.

often made "Furnaces are very good for City use, but they are not adapted to country To correct this opinion, and lo show that tho Spiral Furnace has no equal In any place, we publish the following letters received from the only gentlemen for whom we have put up Spiral Furnace out side of the city of Hartford: Tertvillk. April 16th, 1857. Messrs. David S. Brooks Sl Co.

Gents: In answer to your inquiry of my view of the merit of the Spiral Furnace that iu put in for me last fall, it gives me plene ure to say that 1 think it by far the best In use; it ha. answered my highest expectations, having performed more than you recommended It to do, with less fuel than I previously used in the stoves, besides giving a much pleasant-er heat and more healthy atmosphere: it la not so much trouble to manage it an it is to manage the simplest and best coal stove, and our house is free from the dust that accumulates from stoves; but the bust thing about It 1. that it pleases the women. Y'ours respectfully, Ardriw Tirit. Wbthbrskielp, April 17th, 1857.

Messrs. D. S. Brooks Co. Gentlemen: In reply to yoor Inquiry regaidlng the operation of the Spiral Fur nace that you put in for me two years ago, I will that having given the furnace a fair trial through two winters, it has given complete satisfaction, warming our house (which you know is of large size,) thoroughly, and sometimes in the severest weather, giving more heat than was necessary; another advantage that il ha.

over furnaces that I have seen, it Is free from gas; it is also easily managed, as simple and easy as an ordinary stove. I think the Spiral Furnace worthy tbe commendations bestowed upon It. Yours, L. Goodwik. Simsburt, April 20th, 1857.

David S. Brooks Co. Gentlemen: I would say Id reference to the Spiral Furnace, that I think It is a good one When il was first put up we were strangers to the burning of coal, in any way, and had much to learn; but since we have learned bow to manage it, it has done well, it gives a pleasant heat, and we like it very much. Your, fcc, Wathox Wilcox. W1RP8OR Locks, April 24th, 1857.

Messrs. D. S. Brooks fc Co. Gents: As regard, the operation of the furnace, I must say I like It well: it ha.

given good satisfaction; although our house Is so situated as to take a strong north weat wind. In a very bleak place, we had no trouble in beating the houso in the coldest, weather. As regards the management of the furnace, I think I know of none which I should prefer. The man who has attended to It this winter had no experience, but got along finely, and on the whole we think we could cot be'hired to go back to stove heat Yours respectfully, L. B.
