Death Notices BLANCO. In New London. Josephine (Lentini) Blanco, 81, of 24 Central Niantic, died Saturday (Feb. 21) at Lawrence and Memorial Hospitals. Born in Middletown, she was former Hartford resident.

She had lived in Niantic the last nine years. She was a member of the East Lyme Senior Citizens Club, the East Lyme RSVP, and had worked for the Relief. She leaves four sons, Angelo Blanco of Hartford, Joseph Blanco of Farmington, Louis Blanco of Wethersfield and John Blanco of Ida Grove, Iowa; two daughters, Jane Blanco of Niantic and Mary Cooke of Lombard, 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. The funeral will be Tuesday, 9:15 a.m., from Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm Rocky Hill, with a mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m., at St. Luke's Church, Hartford.

In Farmington. Bernard "Ben" 'F. Buteau, 64, of 1761 Farmington Unionville, husband of Mrs. Faith (White) Buteau, died Friday (Feb. 20, 1981) at John Dempsey Hospital.

He was the operations manager for REM Sales, Division of E. Morris Farmington. He member of Wyllys Robert, Lodge 99 West Hartford, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Sphinx Temple in Newington. Besides his he leaves a son, Dr. Bernard F.

Buteau Jr. of Woodbridge; two daughters, Mrs. Charlene Carriero of Waterbury and Mrs. Beverly Duval of Burlington; two brothers, James Buteau of Avon and George Buteau of Rhode Island; a sister, Mrs. Doris Odenkirchen of Indian Rocks Beach, a niece, Mrs.

Robert L. Cassells, 73, of 98 Adams St. South, Manchester, died Saturday (Feb. 21) at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Helen K.

(Kristek) Cassells. He was born in Thompson March 10, 1907, and had lived in Manchester 28 years and previously in North Grosvenor Dale. Before retiring in 1972, he was employed as millwright with Pratt Whitney Aircraft Group of United Technologies East Hartford, 23 years. He was a member of South United Methodist Church, Manchester, the Orient Lodge of Masons of East Hartford and a past master of Cornerstone Masonic Lodge in Putnam. Besides his wife, he survived by a daughter, Mrs.

Helen K. Shea of Chicopee Falls, two brothers, Edward Cassells of Scottsbluff, and David Cassells Hawthorne, N.J.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Draper of Scottsbluff, Mrs. Margaret Carroll of Columbia and Mrs.

Thomas F. Donohue of 53 Troy West Hartford, died Friday (Feb. 20) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. He was born in West Hartford, Margaret son (Mara) of the Donohue.

In Middletown. John J. Ganey 80; of 11 Goodrich Cromwell, husband of Anna (Johnson) Ganey, died Saturday (Feb. 21) at Middlesex Memorial Hospital. Born in Middletown, he had lived in Cromwell the last 31 years.

He owned and operated a gasoline business in Middletown many years and was employed at the Underwood Manufacturing Co. He was a communicant of St. John's Church, Cromwell. Besides his wife, he leaves a Frederick Norton of Cromwell, and several nieces and nephews. In Norfolk, Mass. Stanley V. Glowinski, 50, formerly of Hartford, of Norfolk, died Saturday (Feb. 21). He was the beloved husband of Emiko (Machida) Glowinski.

Arthur J. Gibson, 69, of 12 Shailer Drive, Westbrook, died Saturday (Feb. 21) at the Shoreline Clinic after a short illness. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., May 2, 1911, he was retired from the Army National Guard. Formerly of Port Chester, N.Y., he had lived in Westbrook the last eight years.

He was retired from the phone company in New York City. He was a member of the Pioneers of America, the Knights of Columbus of Old Saybrook, and the Westbrook Lodge Elks. He was a World War Il veteran and recipient of the Bronze Star. He is survived by his wife, Noreen (O'Connor) Gibson of Westbrook; two sons, Arthur Gibson Jr. of Long Island, N.Y., and Donald Gibson of New Jersey, and two daughters, Mrs.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Harrison of Hartford; two sons, Darnell Harrison and Dorsel Scott, both of Hartford; a daughter, Denico Harrison of Hartford; six brothers, and eight sisters. JAYNE. In Rocky Hill. Charles Van Wyck Jayne husband of Alma (Chadwick) Jayne, of 506 Fern West Hartford, died Friday (Feb. 20) at the state Veterans Home and Hospital. Born in Albany, N.

he had lived in West Hartford 53 years. He was the former assistant general secretary of the YMCA of Hartford and was personnel manager at Underwood Corp. when he retired in 1965. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, David E. Jayne of West Hartford; a brother, Floyde Jayne of North Adams, a niece; five grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren.

Ida Mildred McCabe, 93, 70 Allyn Place, Hartford, died Friday (Feb. 20) at Ridgewood Central Convalescent Hospital. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Hartford and Christ Church Cathedral. She leaves two sons, R. Kenneth McCabe of Middlefield and Wellsford L.

McCabe of Holyoke, a daughter, Mrs. Gladwin (Dorothea) Reed of Miami Springs, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. In Westbrook. George Anthony Richitelli, 70, of 14 Grove Terrace, Westbrook, died Friday (Feb. 20). He had been a resident of Westbrook since 1968. He was a former chef at Bill Hahn's of Westbrook 15 years and recently a chef at Oxford Academy three years.

He was a member of St. Mark's Church, Westbrook. He is survived by his wife, Julie (Jastrzemski) Richitelli of Westbrook; a son, Charles G. Richitelli of Greenwood, S.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Theresa) Reynolds of Westbrook; four brothers, Michael, Pasquale, Harold and Anthony Richitelli, all of Branford; two sisters, Mrs.

Miss Arline Strouse, daughter of the late Benjamin Strouse Sr. and Babette E. Strouse, died Friday (Feb. 20). She is survived by a brother, Benjamin Strouse Jr.

George Prouty 74, of 142 Vernon Rockville section of Vernon, died Friday (Feb. 20) at Rockville General Hospital. Born in Minneapolis, he was a resident of the Rockville area the last 12 years. He was a graduate of Northwestern University Law School and had received his doctorate in Sociology from the University of Minnesota. He was active in the labor movement of both management and employes and at one time was an organizer for the Teamsters union and also served as director of industrial relations for the Munsingwear and later was active as an independent management consultant.

He moved to Connecticut in 1960 as senior executive for Crestline Boat Corp. He joined the University of Connecticut faculty in 1963 as director of the federal grant program for drafting almost every disaster plan for towns and municipalities as well as a master plan used by the state of Connecticut. He was a life member of the Rockville Lodge of Elks, having been an Elk 49 years, a member of the ARK Lodge of Masons 34 of Minneapolis, and a member of the Azurah Shrine Temple of Minneapolis, Minn: He was known as "Big Daddy" by Versa, which is Vernon Emergency Radio Services Association. He was appointed to the Vernon school board in October 1978 and won a two-year term in November 1979. He also was on the Board of Directors of the Rockville Public Health Nurse Association, a member of the Connecticut Law Enforcement Crime Prevention Association, the Town Committee of Vernon and the University of Connecticut Alumni.

Association. He is survived by two sons, George C. Prouty Jr. of Old Saybrook and Timothy Prouty of San Francisco, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, 11 a.m., at First Church Lutheran Church, 154 Orchard Ellington, with the Rev.

He was retired owner the former Jospeh Goldenthal Co. of Hartford, wholesale delicatessen distributors. He was a member of the First Ludmir Benevolent Association. He leaves a son, Alan Singer of Bloomfield; daughter, Mrs. Stuart (Velma) Green of Fort Myers, and six grandchildren.

WILKALIS. Mrs. Tessie A. (Shatkus) Wilkalis, 71, of 86 Thomas West Hartford, died Friday (Feb. 20) at St.

Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, she was a resident of West Hartford the last 46 years. She was the retired proprietor of Tess's Beauty Salon, which was located on Main Street, Hartford. She was a member of the Knights of lumbus Columbietts Council 3600; West Hartford, and the Senior Cifizens Group, West Hartford. She Is survived by her husband, Chester Wilkalis of West Hartford; her mother, Mrs.

Hit-and-Run Claims Newington Man, 28 A 28-year-old Newington man was killed early Saturday in a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Broad and Vernon streets, police said. The victim was identified as Stephen Cooney of 210 Churchill Drive, Newington. Police said he was struck by a small blue car, possibly a Ford, while crossing Broad Street at about 12:30 a.m. Four persons were in the car at the time, police said. Police asked that anyone with information about the accident call the department's evidentiary services division.

Cooney is the son of Henry Cooney, a former Hartford city councilman and former state senator, who now lives in Newington. Four Children In California Blaze While Parents Away EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. (AP) Four children died when overcome by smoke from a fire at their home early today after their parents went out for breakfast with friends, the Los Angeles County sheriff's office reported. Fire officials said bodies of 1-yearold Ira Fernandez and his 2-year-old sister Jaine were found in the home after the fire broke out about 4 a.m. Eleven-year-old Denise Fernandez and her 13-year-old brother Salvador were pronounced dead at a hospital.

Sheriff's Deputy Ralph Martin said investigators reported the parents said they had left the home in an unincorporated area of the county to out to breakfast with friends and awakened 13-year-old Salvador to have him watch the other children. The parents' identities were not immediately available. "It appeared the fire broke out in the front of the house where the older youngsters had been sleeping," said a County Fire Department spokesman, Dick Friend. "They apparently were awakened by the noise or the heavy smoke and made their way to the back, apparently, in and an attempt and to rescue sister, they just didn't make it. Car Accident Fatal to Man.

NEW CANAAN (AP) A New York state man was killed and a Connecticut resident seriously injured when their car rammed into a stone wall at a high speed early Saturday, police reported. The passenger, David M. Brind, 20, of Geneva, N.Y., son of Geneva's acting city court judge, was killed. The driver, Anthony Piotrowski, 21, of New Canaan, received multiple injuries and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Stamford, where officials said he was in stable condition.

Amory Houghton, 81, Of Corning Glass Dies CHARLESTON, S.C. (UPI) Corning Glass magnate Amory Houghton died Saturday at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital after a. long illness. He was 81. Houghton was U.S.

ambassador to France under President Dwight Eisenhower between 1957 and 1961. During that time he was honored by the French government with the Great Cross of the Legion of Honor. Under his management Corning Glass joined the Fortune 500 list. The glass works' 1980 worldwide sales topped $1.6 billion. car 82 COLLAGAN.

In Sarasota, Fla. Edward C. Collagan of 46 Ridgewood Road, West Hartford, died Friday (Feb. 20). A retired executive of Heublein he was involved in national sales 30 years.

He was born in New Haven and had lived in New Britain 15 years and West Hartford 40 years. He was a graduate of the Colwas lege of members of the Worcester, Country Club and of A Avon and the City Club of Hartford. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Grace (Luddy) Collagan; a son, Edward T.

Collagan; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen McMahon, Mrs. Judith C. McWeeny, all of West Hartford, and Mrs. Kathleen C.
