j 24 'Muoa July 8, 1948 M»t«n City, U. Retired Farmer Dies at Charles City Home .Charles City —Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Saturday at the Hauser funeral home for Fred William Gauger, 83, of 112 Clinton street, who died at his home early Wednesday morning after a 3 months' illness. The Rev. H. F. Mercer, pastor of the : Central Methodist church, will of'• ficiate, assisted by the Rev. C. D. James, and interment will be in Riverside cemetery. Mr. Gauger was bora March 9, 1865, near Wausau, Wis., and op\ crated a farm in Ulster township, ' 1 Floyd county, until 14 years ago : when he retired to Charles City , On June 30, 1892, he was married ! to Matilda L. Bartz, who survives 1 as do 2 daughters, Mrs. Adam I Marth and Miss Ima E. Gauger i both of Charles City. Other survivors are 4 grand- children and 2 great grandchildren, 4 brothers, William F. Gauger, Davenport, Wash.; A. C. Gau- jer and J. H. Gauger, both of lharles City; the Rev. A. W. jauger, Mason City, and a sister, Mrs. E. R. Bartz, Rudd. One daughter, Stella, preceded him in death in 1938. ATTEND RITES Chapin —Those who were here from a distance to attend the funeral of George W. Runton of Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Davison of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Wirth and son of Waterloo, Mrs. Margaret Davison and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ferrer of Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. J. C.
